Kalmit
The Kalmit is the highest peak in the Palatinate Forest and the second highest (after the Donnersberg) in the Palatinate region of Germany. It is and located south of the town of Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The mountain attracts many tourists thanks to the numerous footpaths leading to its summit, its mountaintop restaurant, extensive views over the Palatinate wine region and striking rock formations on its forest-clad mountainsides. The Kalmithaus, also called the Ludwigshafener Hut, near Maikammer in the Rhineland-Palatinate county of Südliche Weinstraße is a refuge hut in the Palatinate Forest run by the Ludwigshafen-Mannheim branch of the Palatinate Forest Club. Kleine Kalmit
The Kleine Kalmit ("Little Kalmit"; from Lat. ''calvus mons'' = ''bare hill'') is a hill, high, just outside the eastern edge of the Palatine Forest, and the Haardt range, in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Parts of the hill have been designated as a Nature reserve bearing the same name. Geography The Kleine Kalmit lies about 15 km south of its namesake, the 672.6 m high Kalmit, and about 6 km southwest of Landau outside the Haardt itself. Most of the hill, including its symbol, the little chapel on the summit dome which is visible for many miles, lies on the territory of the parish of Arzheim in the borough of Landau. The Breitenberg near Sankt Martin in the Rhineland-Palatinate county of Südliche Weinstraße is a hill, , and subpeak of the Kalmit, the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest. It is part of the Haardt mountains. Geography Location The Breitenberg lies within both the Palatinate Forest-North Vosges Biosphere Reserve and the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. Wetterkreuzberg
The Wetterkreuzberg () is a hill in the Haardt range on the eastern edge of the Palatine Forest in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Location The Wetterkreuzberg, like the Breitenberg (545.2 m), the Taubenkopf (603.8 m) and the Kanzel (531.7 m), is one of the outlying peaks of the Kalmit massif (672.6 m). It is located in an exposed location right on the edge of the Haardt so that, despite its low elevation, it is seen from places in the Rhine Plain as a prominent peak. To the north the hill is linked to the Kanzel over a shallow saddle. At the summit is a chapel to St. Mary (the ''Maria-Schutz-Kapelle'') which is visible from a long way off. The Hohe Loog, is a mountain, , in the Haardt, the eastern rim of the Palatine Forest in Germany. The mountain lies within the borough of Neustadt an der Weinstraße in the southern part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is part of the mountain chain of the Haardt in the Palatine Forest and lies in the municipal territory of Diedesfeld in the borough of Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Maikammer ( pfl, Maikomma) is a municipality in the Südliche Weinstraße district, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the German Wine Route, approx. 5 km south of Neustadt an der Weinstraße. Maikammer is the seat of the ''Verbandsgemeinde'' Maikammer. The Palatine Forest Club (german: Pfälzerwald-Verein) is a hiking club in the former Bavarian Palatinate, i.e. the southern part of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland county of Saarpfalz-Kreis.
