Kalki (2017 Film)
''Kalki'' is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language short film, directed by Dhilip Kumar and written by film critic Baradwaj Rangan. Produced by Prateek Chakravorty and Shruti Nallappa under the banner Pramod Films, the film stars Kishore and Yasmin Ponnappa in the lead roles. The film has music composed by Girishh G, with cinematography handled by Vijay Karthik Kannan and edited by A. Sreekar Prasad. The film released on 31 May 2017. Premise A woman named Kalki (Yasmin Ponnappa) is introduced in the beginning of the film leaving the audience wondering who she is. A scientist, Kishore (Kishore), is on a journey to solve one of the greatest mysteries of the universe. While doing so, he falls in love with Radhika (Yasmin Ponnappa). However, Radhika has a secret that Kishore doesn't know about. Baradwaj Rangan
Baradwaj Rangan is an Indian film critic, writer, and formerly the deputy editor of ''The Hindu''. He later became a senior editor of Film Companion. Rangan won the National Film Award for Best Film Critic in 2006. Before joining ''The Hindu'', Rangan wrote for ''The New Indian Express''. He has also authored two books, worked as a screenwriter, and is a teacher at the Asian College of Journalism, Chennai. Career Baradwaj Rangan had no formal training in filmmaking or cinema writing. He is a chemical engineering graduate from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. According to him, it was a time when "parents considered only medicine or engineering" to be "serious professions", that he did not have interest but continued with it anyway. Kishore Kumar G (born 14 August 1974), known mononymously as Kishore, is an Indian actor who appears predominantly in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films. He gained popularity for portraying the character of Veerappan in the Kannada film Attahasa in 2013. Recently, he got pan India recognition for his performance in The Family Man (Indian TV series) and Kantara (film). Yasmin Ponnappa is an Indian model from Bangalore. After appearing in print media and television commercials, Yasmin first worked as an actress in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's gangster film ''Aaranya Kaandam'' (2011). Career Yasmin Ponnappa began her career as a model in Bangalore, before shifting to Mumbai to seek better opportunities. She landed a contract with the Elite Model Management agency, and initially appeared in commercials for Nivea Deodorant and Tropicana juice. She later garnered attention for her work with Opulex diamond bracelets, under the direction of Vishesh Verma. Girishh Gopalakrishnan ( ta, கிரிஷ் கோபாலகிருஷ்ணன் ; born 26 September 1986) is an Indian music composer, music producer, singer in the Tamil film industry. He made his debut as a music director with the Tamil film, ''Marina'' directed by Pandiraj. Early life and career Girishh was born on 26 September 1986 in Tanjore, Tamil Nadu. He is a student of violinist Lalgudi Jayaraman and started learning music under him from the age of 8. He also trained in western classical music under the late Das Daniel. Girishh graduated as an engineer in 2008 and went on to do his master's degree in music composition at Leeds College of Music.
