The Kaldygaity ( kk, Қалдығайты; russian: Калдыгайты) is a river in the West Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan. It is long and has a catchment area of . The Kaldygaity belongs to the Ural (river), Ural basin. The banks of the river are a seasonal grazing ground for local cattle. Course The Kaldygaity has its sources in the southwestern slopes of Mount Almastau. It heads first southwestwards across Shyngyrlau District, then it bends westwards and flows in that direction through Karatobe District. It forms meanders in a floodplain until it meets the wide salt lake area that lies near Tolen village. The Buldyrty ( kk, Бұлдырты; russian: Булдырты) is a river in the West Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan. It is long and has a catchment area of . The Buldyrty belongs to the Ural basin and flows across the Syrym, Karatobe and Shyngyrlau districts. The banks of the river are a seasonal grazing ground for local cattle. The name of the river originated in the Kazakh word for turbid or murky. Course The Buldyrty begins at the confluence of two small rivers, the Bylkyldagan and Zhosaly, close to Aksuat village. It heads in a southwestward direction across Shyngyrlau District, forming meanders within a floodplain. Shortly after Karasu village it bends southwards for a stretch until its mouth in the northern shore of lake Zhaltyrkol, located among other salt lakes. ''Calliptamus italicus'', the Italian locust, is a species of 'short-horned grasshopper' belonging to the family Acrididae, subfamily Calliptaminae. This species is native of the steppes of Central Asia, but it is also present in most of Europe, in the eastern Palearctic realm, in North Africa, and in the Near East. Distribution and habitat ''Calliptamus italicus'' is found in Western Europe and Central Asia. Its range extends from North Africa and the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea to Central Europe, Central Asia, Mongolia and western Siberia. These grasshoppers can be encountered from July through October. Olenti (Tuzdy)
The Olenti ( kk, Өлеңті; russian: Оленти) is a river in the West Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan. It is long and has a catchment area of . The Olenti belongs to the Ural basin. The name of the river originated in the Kazakh word for sedge. Course The Olenti has its sources east of lake Shalkar, in the area between the Caspian Depression and the Mughalzhar Hills (Pre-Ural Plateau). It heads roughly southwestwards across Syrym District. The Buldyrty river flows roughly parallel to the southeast of that stretch. Then the Olenti bends southwards near the village of Saykudyk in Akzhaik District and flows almost straight in that direction. Finally it divides into shallow arms and its waters sink in the sand shortly before reaching lake Tuzdy to the SSE.
