Kalavasal
Kalavasal ( ta, காளவாசல்) is a neighbourhood in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India. It is located at an altitude of about 162 m above the mean sea level with the geographical coordinates of (i.e., 9.930300°N, 78.095500°E). Madurai, Arasaradi, S. S. Colony, Arappalayam, Koodal Nagar, Vilangudi, Thathaneri, Simmakkal, South Gate and Yanaikkal are some of the important neighbourhoods of Kalavasal. In order to decongest the traffic near Kalavasal junction, a flyover of 0.75 km long, at a project cost of about ₹54.07 crore is constructed in Kalavasal. It is the first of its kind. It is a four-lane flyover. The purpose of building a flyover here is not met with its usage as fewer commuters use this. Kalavasal area falls under the Madurai Central Assembly constituency. South Gate, Madurai
South Gate is a neighbourhood in Madurai district of Tamil Nadu state in the peninsular India, with the geographical coordinates of 9°54'39.2"N, 78°07'07.3"E (i.e., 9.910900°N, 78.118700°E) and is located at about 161 m above the mean sea level. Famous Meenakshi Amman temple is situated at a walkable distance of about 1 km from South Gate. Madurai city is constructed in such a manner that neighbourhoods and streets are arranged in all the four directions keeping the temple at their centre. The great fort walls were built in the East, West, North and South directions and South Gate, North Gate, West Gate and East Gate were the entrances on each sides. Vilangudi is a panchayat town in Madurai district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Geography Vilangudi has its ground water table at an average depth of 170 feet. Palanivel Thiagarajan (PTR) is an Indian politician and the current Finance Minister of Tamil Nadu. He was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election in 2016 and 2021 from Madurai Central. Early life He is the son of the late P. T. R.
