Kairo (band)
Kairo was a Mexican pop vocal group established in 1993 as a trio made up of Paul Forat, Francisco Zorrilla and Eduardo Verástegui, a future actor. As members left, starting with Verástegui in 1996, they were replaced with others like Gabriel Soto and Roberto Assad, who both joined in 1997, and Paulo César Quevedo in 1998. The band folded in 1999. Career Kairo was conceptualized by Toño Berumen as an all-male trio boy band in 1993. Kairo's first single was "En los espejos de un café" based on the Italian group 883's hit "Nord sud ovest est". The song gained great popularity and was followed by the release of the first album, ''Signo del tiempo'' (meaning Sign of the times). Other singles from the album included "Háblame de tí", "Pérdoname" and "Te amaré". The follow-up album was ''Gaudium'', released in 1995 and resulting in singles "No nos rendimos", "Si te vas" and "Dile que la amo". Magneto (band)
Magneto was a popular Mexican boy band of the 1980s and 1990s. The band formed on February 14, 1983. In 1986, Magneto was featured in "Siempre en Domingo," a Mexican entertainment show viewed across Latin America and parts of Europe. Mexican teen pop group Magneto emerged in 1983. Their first record, Dejalo Que Gire came in 1984, followed by Super 6 Magneto. The Latin pop outfit suffered several lineup changes before achieving their first gold record in 1986. Mostly playing dance-pop songs, the five-member ensemble started touring Central America after climbing charts with "Todo Esta Muy Bien," and "Soy Un Soñador." However, their breakthrough came after issuing a Spanish-language version of Desireless' "Voyage, voyage," a French pop hit from the '80s. The 7th Lo Nuestro Awards ceremony, presented by the Univision, honored the best Latin music of 1994 and 1995 and took place on May 18, 1995, at a live presentation held in Miami, Florida. The ceremony was broadcast in the United States and Latin America by Univision. During the ceremony, nineteen categories were presented. Winners were announced at the live event and included Tejano singer Selena receiving four posthumous awards, and Luis Miguel and Carlos Vives, each receiving two awards.
