Kaido Ole
Kaido Ole (born 23 February 1963) is an Estonian painter. Ole was born in Tallinn. His great-uncle was artist Eduard Ole. In 1992, he graduated from Estonian Academy of Arts. He worked as a painting instructor at the Tallinn Art School from 1992 until 1993. From 2003 until 2010, he taught painting at Estonian Academy of Arts. Since 2010 he is a freelance painter. Since 1989 he has exhibited his works. In 2003 he represented Estonia at 50th Venice Biennale (with Marko Mäetamm) in the Estonian pavilion. Most of his works can be classified as conceptual art. Conceptual art, also referred to as conceptualism, is art in which the concept(s) or idea(s) involved in the work take precedence over traditional aesthetic, technical, and material concerns. Konrad Mägi
Konrad Vilhelm Mägi (1 November 1878 – 15 August 1925) was an Estonian painter, primarily known for his landscape work. He was one of the most colour-sensitive Estonian painters of the first decades of the 20th century, and Mägi's works on motifs of the island of Saaremaa are the first modern Estonian nature paintings. Life and works Mägi received his elementary art education from the drawing courses of the German Artisans' Society of Tartu (1899–1902.) At the same time, he was keenly engaged in theater, violin, and various sports. Mägi continued his art education as an unattached student in Saint Petersburg (1903–1905), studying under Amandus Adamson. In the autumn of 1907, he went to Paris. There Mägi studied at a free academy. From 1908 to 1910, he lived in Norway. In 1912, Mägi returned to Tartu, where he worked as an art teacher. Kristjan Raud
Kristjan Raud (22 October 1865, Kirikuküla, Vinni Parish – 19 May 1943, Tallinn) was an Estonian symbolist painter and illustrator who was one of the founders of the Estonian National Museum. Folklore elements figure heavily in his subject matter and his style is reminiscent of Primitivism. His twin brother, Paul, also became a well-known painter. Biography Raud and his brother spent their early years in Meriküla, where their father was a field ranger. After his early death, they were enrolled at the parish school in Rakvere, where they were taught in German. Later, he went to the teachers' college in Tartu, and taught in the local schools there for several years.
