is the third album by Kaku P-Model. Overview Based on a concept, divorced from the story built upon in previous Kaku P-Model albums, centered on changing away from stagnating customs so that humans stop being "limited editions" of themselves, ''Kai=Kai'' presents modern electronic music mixed in with prominent guitar playing, where Susumu Hirasawa adopts tones that harken back to his roots in surf music. The production of the album marked the first time Kaku P-Model material was created to be used as soundtrack music: Hirasawa has affirmed that a movie adaptation of the Satoshi Kon manga '' Opus'' will feature music by him, with the song of the same name to serve that purpose. Susumu Hirasawa
is a Japanese musician and composer. In the fifth year of elementary school, Hirasawa took up the electric guitar, inspired by the surf and instrumental rock bands he heard on the radio and on TV, later joining his junior high school's band. In 1973 he formed Mandrake, a progressive rock band that incorporated elements from heavy metal and krautrock. Being one of the few Japanese progressive rock bands of its time, Mandrake achieved little success and released no albums during its lifetime. After discovering punk rock and working on synthesizer-heavy projects, Hirasawa felt that progressive rock became just for entertainment and decided to reform the band as the electronic rock band P-Model in 1979. ''Gipnoza'' ( rus, гипноза) is the second album by Kaku P-Model. Overview The 2011 Tōhoku earthquake was worked in as a plot device for the album's dystopian science fiction concept story, a sequel to the events of ''Vistoron'', in which the reality-distorting Gipnoza nanobots are being planted inside of people through the food and medicine supply. Other story elements were taken from the 1996 album ''Convex And Concave'' by the P-Model/Devo tribute band Pevo. Yasumi Tanaka, a founding member of P-Model, returned 30 years after his departure from music as a guest performer on "Go for it! Halycon". Pevo's 1go also appeared as a guest musician on "Time-eliminating Light", and performed alongside Susumu Hirasawa at the album's ''Parallel Kozak'' live concerts. Satoshi Kon
was a Japanese film director, animator, screenwriter and manga artist from Sapporo, Hokkaido and a member of the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA). He was a graduate of the Graphic Design department of the Musashino Art University. He is best known for his acclaimed anime films ''Perfect Blue'' (1997), ''Millennium Actress'' (2001), ''Tokyo Godfathers'' (2003) and ''Paprika'' (2006). He died of pancreatic cancer at the age of 46 on August 24, 2010. Biography Early life Satoshi Kon was born on October 12, 1963. ''Opus'' is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satoshi Kon. The story is about a manga artist who is pulled into the world of the manga he is concluding and forced to confront his characters. The manga was serialized in the manga magazine ''Comic Guys'' from October 1995 until the magazine's cancellation in June 1996. It was collected into two volumes by Tokuma Shoten on December 13, 2010 and included a missing ending found after Kon's death. Dark Horse Comics licensed the manga in North America and released it in an omnibus edition on December 9, 2014.
