Kadettangen
Kadettangen is a small peninsula outside of Sandvika in Bærum, Norway. Originally named Sandvikstangen, it got its current name from the cadet training conducted by the Norwegian Military Academy for the better part of the nineteenth century. The peninsula is now used mainly for boating, beach life and sports, being the home ground of association football club Bærum SK. Geography The peninsula is located slightly south of the town of Sandvika, at the outlet of the river Sandvikselva, at the opposite shore of Kjørbo. Kjørbo is a former manor in Bærum, Norway. Bærum SK
Bærum Sportsklubb is a Norwegian association football club founded on 26 March 1910. The men's team is currently playing in the Norwegian Second Division, after being relegated from the 1. divisjon in 2015. The club comes from Sandvika, the administrative centre of the municipality Bærum. The club was formed as ''Grane FK'', but quickly changed its name to ''Grane SK'' to include different sporting codes. The club changed its name to ''IL Mode'' in 1946 after a merger with workers' sports team ''Sandvika AIL''. It took its current name in 1969. Bærum have won Norwegian Championships in ice hockey, team handball and bandy, but now operates as a football-only club. Sandvikselva
Sandvikselva, formerly known as Løxa, is a river in Bærum, Norway, originating at the intersection of the two rivers Lomma and Isielva at Wøyen. The river flows into the Oslo Fjord 4.5 km south at Sandvika, though the center of the city, where it is crossed by the historic Løkke Bridge, the first cast iron bridge in Norway. At the mouth there are three bridges over the river. There were formerly water mills for industry along the line, including at Franzefoss for Franzefoss Bruk. The river regularly floods, and landslides have occurred. There is a measuring station for water levels and pollution at Bjøregårdsvingen. Bærum RK
Bærum Roklubb is a sports club from Bærum, Norway. Established in 1917, its only sport is sport rowing. It is based at Kalvøya outside Sandvika, and has shared the current locality with the canoeing club Bærum KK since 1972. Bærum RK originally had its own house at Kalvøya, but this was moved to Kadettangen in 1925, and sold in 1936 due to financial problems. Between 1936 and 1972 the rowing club used a house constructed on the tiny islet Danmark. In 1972 the new clubhouse on Kalvøya was finished and both Bærum rowing club and Bærum KK moved into the new clubhouse. The house was burned to the ground during a fire in 1996, but a new club house was opened in May 2000. Well-known members include Ole Nafstad, Svein Nielsen and Vetle Vinje. Kalvøya, Bærum
Kalvøya ( en, Calf Island) is situated in the inner Oslofjord. The island is right outside of Sandvika in Bærum. The island has been connected to the mainland by a suspension bridge to Kadettangen since 1963. Kalvøya is one of the most popular bathing spots in Bærum. On the far east side of the island there is a nude beach. Kalvøya plays host to an annual soccer tournament for kids and a children's festival. The festival Øyafestivalen also has its roots there. Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. A revue is a type of multi-act popular theatrical entertainment that combines music, dance, and sketches.
