Bærum Kajakklubb is a sports club from Bærum, Norway. Established in 1935, its only sport is canoe racing. It is based at Kalvøya outside of Sandvika, and has shared the locality with the rowing club Bærum RK since 1972. Harald Amundsen
Harald Amundsen (born 30 November 1962) is a Norwegian sprint canoer who competed in the 1980s. He won two medals in the K-4 10000 m event at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold in 1987 and a silver in 1983. Amundsen also competed in two Summer Olympics, earning his best finish of eighth in the K-2 1000 m event at Seoul in 1988. Geir Kvillum
Geir Kvillum (born 6 May 1959) is a Norwegian sprint canoeist who competed in the early to mid-1980s. He won a silver medal in the K-4 10000 m at the 1983 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Tampere. Kvillum also competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in the K-4 1000 m event, but was eliminated in the semifinals. He has been a second vice president of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports, president of the Norwegian Canoe Association and board member of the European Canoe Association. Andreas Orheim
Andreas Orheim (born 19 June 1951 in Berum, Norway) is a Norwegian sprint canoer who competed in the mid-1970s. He won a gold medal in the K-4 10000 m at the 1975 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Belgrade. Orheim was eliminated in the semifinals of the K-2 1000 m event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. Orheim has won 10 Norwegian championships in paddling and he has between 20-30 top 3 results in the Norwegian championship. Most of his podium places was in team boats, but in 1975 he won the classic 10 000 m races in the Norwegian championship all by himself. Andreas Orheim retired at the age of 25 and he lives in Berum with his two sons Petter and Herman Orheim. Knut Østby
Knut Østby (12 November 1922 – 6 August 2010) was a Norwegian sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1940s to the late 1950s. Participating in three Summer Olympics, he won a silver medal in the K-2 10000 m event at London in 1948 and another in the K-2 1000 m event at the 1950 World Championships. Career Østby was born in Modum, but grew up in Bærum, and was a member of Bærum KK. He was a new name in Norwegian and international kayaking after 1945, as most of the pre-war organized sporting activity had been put on ice during World War II. Already in 1948, before the Summer Olympics that year, Østby and his teammate Ivar Mathisen were considered as having the highest medal hopes in the Norwegian canoeing squad. Østby and Mathisen proceeded to win the silver medal in the K-2 10000 m event and finished fourth in the K-2 1000 m.
