Kaczmarek ( ; archaic feminine: Kaczmarkowa, plural Kaczmarkowie) is the 18th most common surname in Poland (62,399 people in 2009) and the second most popular in Greater Poland (24,185) and Lubusz Land (3,121). Marcin Kaczmarek (footballer, Born 1974)
Marcin Kaczmarek (born 2 January 1974) is a Polish football manager and former player, most recently in charge of Ekstraklasa club Lechia Gdańsk. He was previously a pundit and commentator for Polsat Sport. During his career, Kaczmarek played in Ekstraklasa for Pogoń Szczecin and GKS Bełchatów, making a total of 97 appearances in Poland's top division. Senior career Kaczmarek had been part of the Lechia Gdańsk academy, before being promoted to the first team at the beginning of the 1990 season. His Lechia debut came in a 1–0 win over Szombierki Bytom on 3 June 1990, in which he played 44 minutes. During his first two seasons with Lechia, Kaczmerek struggled to break into the first team, relying on few substitute appearances to get game time. Kaczmarek's first professional league start came in his third season when he started in a home game against Miedź Legnica. Wojciech Szczęsny Kaczmarek (24 March 1942 – 26 May 2009) was a physicist and politician. From 1990 to 1998, he was the mayor of Poznań, Poland. Biography Wojciech Szczęsny Kaczmarek was born on 24 March 1942 in Luboń, Reich District of Wartheland, Nazi Germany (now part of the Greater Poland Voivodeship, Poland). His father, Telesfor Kaczmarek was of Polish descent, and his mother Zyta Kaczmarek (née ''Omaszt'') of Hungarian. At the age of two he got sick from polio. In 1966 Kaczmarek graduated from the Faculty of Physics of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Tomasz Kaczmarek (born 20 September 1984) is a Polish professional football manager and former player who is the current assistant manager of Eredivisie club NAC Breda. Coaching career Kaczmarek moved from Poland to Germany at the age of 9 and only played on amateur level as an active footballer. He started his coaching career in 2009 as a part of the coaching staff at Bonner SC. Oliver Kaczmarek (born 8 August 1970) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia since 2009. Natalia Kaczmarek (born 17 January 1998) is a Polish athlete sprinter who specialises in the 400 metres. She won the silver medal in the event at the 2022 European Championships. Kaczmarek earned several global medals as part of 4 x 400 m relays, including gold in the mixed event and silver in the women's event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was the 400 m 2019 European under-23 champion.
