Bocholt, Belgium
Bocholt (; li, Bóggetj) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Limburg. On January 1, 2021, Bocholt had a total population of 13,144. The total area is 59.34 km2 which gives a population density of 208 inhabitants per km2. Besides the historical Bocholt centre, it also includes the parishes of Kaulille, Reppel and Lozen. The Priory of Our Lady of Klaarland of the Trappistins is located in Bocholt. Martens brewery, established in 1758, has the second highest production capacity in Belgium at 360 million litres per year. The town is home to Achilles Bocholt handball club. Also, the town is known for its historical event in 1910, when the church tower was lifted off its fundaments and moved 9,40 metres, in order to enlarge the church itself, because of it becoming too small to take in the crowd. The 2020–21 Belgian Division 2 was the fifth season of the division in its current format, placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium and the first under this name, after being renamed (Belgian) Division 2 from (Belgian) ''Second Amateur Division''. The Belgian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Belgium. Men's system The league system underwent restructuring which was approved by the Royal Belgian Football Association. One important step was the introduction of a national fifth level for the first time. Its implementation took effect as of the 2016–17 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Belgian First Division A has expanded temporarily from 16 to 18 teams, with the intention to return to 16. The Belgian Third Division ( nl, Derde klasse, french: Division III) was the third highest level in Football in Belgium, Belgian football. It had two leagues of 18 teams each (Belgian Third Division A, A and Belgian Third Division B, B) at the same level. This competition, originally known as the Belgian Promotion ( nl, Bevordering) was first played in the 1926-27 in Belgian football, 1926-27 season with three leagues, then with four leagues between 1931 and 1952. From 1952 on, only two leagues remained and the competition was named the Third Division. Originally set to 16 clubs, the number of clubs in each division was increased in 2009 to 18 clubs. Belgian Fourth Division
The Belgian Fourth Division was the lowest nationwide division in Belgian football. The division was split into four separate leagues, A, B, C and D. The team with the most points in the four leagues together was declared the overall winner. If several league winners had the same number of points, the one with the most wins was declared champion, or if that was still tied, then the one with the best goal average was declared champion. Finally, if two teams were still equal, a single match was played on a neutral ground to determine the team to be added to the palmares.
