2020–21 Belgian Division 2
The 2020–21 Belgian Division 2 was the fifth season of the division in its current format, placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium and the first under this name, after being renamed (Belgian) Division 2 from (Belgian) ''Second Amateur Division''. The season was cancelled in January 2021 with just a few matches played, as measures taken by the Belgian government against the spread of COVID-19 prohibited amateur football. The division consisted of three separate leagues. Leagues VFV A and VFV B consist of teams with a license from the Voetbalfederatie Vlaanderen (VFV, the Flemish/Dutch speaking wing of the Belgian FA) and contain 16 teams, while the ACFF league contains teams with a license from the Association des Clubs Francophones de Football (ACFF, the French-speaking wing of the RBFA) and contains 17 teams. Belgian Division 2
The Belgian Division 2, commonly referred to as simply Tweede Afdeling (in Dutch) or Division 2 (in French) is the fourth-highest division in the Belgian football league system, one level below the Belgian National Division 1. It was created by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 2016, replacing the Belgian Third Division and named ''Belgian Second Amateur Division'' until the 2019–20 before it was renamed due to the negative connotation of the word ''amateur''. KRC Harelbeke (2016 Club)
KRC Harelbeke is a Belgian football club based in Harelbeke, West Flanders. It is the result of the merger between the former club with the same name K.R.C. Zuid-West-Vlaanderen and K.S.V. Ingelmunster in 2002. The club was founded in 1930 as KSV Ingelmunster and played in Ingelmunster before they moved to Harelbeke in 2002. AS Verbroedering Geel is a Belgian association football club based in Geel, province of Antwerp. Currently, they play in the Belgian Provincial Leagues. History Founded in 1926 as Meerhout Sport, the club received the matricule number 893. In 1966, Meerhout Sport merged with the other club from the city named Hand in Hand, with matricule 2169. The new club took the name F.C. Verbroedering Meerhout. At the end of the season, the club reached the Belgian Promotion. They were relegated to the provincial level in 1987. R.F.C. Tilleur-Saint-Nicolas was a Belgian football club from the municipality of Saint-Nicolas, a suburb of Liège. It was created in 1899 as Tilleur F.C. and was assigned the matricule n°21. History The club was an inaugural (1909) participant in the Belgian Second Division, winning the league championship in 1920 without qualifying for the first division. In 1925 the name changed to R. Tilleur F.C. and the club won the second division again, this time qualifying for the top division. Union Namur, commonly known as UR Namur or Union Royale Namur, is a Belgian football club from the city of Namur. It plays in the third amateur division. The media simply refer to them as "Les merles." Until 2018, the team was known as UR Namur, however as the team faced relegation from the 2017–18 Belgian Third Amateur Division into the Belgian provincial leagues, the team instead merged with newly promoted Fosses to form Union Royale Namur Fosses-La-Ville and retain its place in the Belgian Third Amateur Division.
