KZBK
KZBK is a radio station airing a hot adult contemporary format licensed to Brookfield, Missouri, broadcasting on 96.9 MHz FM. The station is owned by Best Broadcasting, Inc. History KQMO at 97.7 MHz signed on August 17, 1981 simulcasting sister AM station KGHM during the day and airing its own programming until midnight. Two years later, however, KGHM-KQMO went silent and remained so for a year until the station was sold by Hampro Wireless to Dwight and Carolyn Carver in 1984. The resumption of operations of both stations was delayed into 1985 by FCC requirements. After the sale, both stations changed call letters: KGHM became gospel station KGNG, while KQMO relaunched as KZBK with an adult contemporary format. Best acquired KGNG-KZBK in 1993. Moberly is a city in Randolph County, Missouri, United States. The population was 13,974 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Columbia, Missouri metropolitan area. History Moberly was founded in 1866, and named after Colonel William E. Moberly, the first president of the Chariton and Randolph County railroads. Moberly, the "Magic City", grew from the town platted by the North Missouri R. R. (Wabash) in 1866 to a transportation center with a 6,070 population by 1880. The North Mo. acquired the site when it took over the Chariton and Randolph R.R. after the Civil War. In 1860, the C.& R. had planned a road west to Brunswick from this point on the North Mo. then reaching toward Iowa. The Chariton and Randolph R. R. named its proposed junction for William Moberly, head of the railroad, and offered free land to residents of once nearby Allen to settle here. Macon, Missouri
Macon is a city in and the county seat of Macon County, Missouri, United States. The population was 5,457 at the 2020 census. History Macon was platted in 1856. Like the county, Macon was named for Nathaniel Macon. A post office called Macon City was established in 1856, and the name was changed to Macon in 1892. In May 1898, there was a string of break-ins in the area of Macon. The break-ins included the theft of food and items, as well as assaults on women. In late June, there was a break-in at the home of John Koechel, a blind broom maker. During this break-in, there were references to previous assaults, an attempted assault, and a theft of two sacks of flour. Police officers followed a trail of tiny white specks to the home of Henry Williams, who was later arrested with no resistance.
