KZFR
KZFR (90.1 FM) is a non-profit, community radio station located in Chico, California. The idea started out as a translator for KPFA in Berkeley, California, Berkeley in 1981, but when it began transmitting in July 1990 it was locally originated content. KZFR broadcasts local Internet station Radio Paradise from midnight to 6 AM. KZFR features diverse programming. Music programs include shows devoted to reggae, rock and roll, folk, Celtic, blues, jazz, country, zydeco and spiritual music. Informational programs include Democracy Now, The Real Issue, and the Peace and Social Justice Show. KZFR also occasionally broadcasts concerts live, usually from the Big Room at the Sierra Nevada Brewery. KZFR also has several Americana themed shows. Chico, California
Chico ( ; Spanish for "little") is the most populous city in Butte County, California. KPFA
KPFA (94.1 FM) is an American listener-funded talk radio and music radio station located in Berkeley, California, broadcasting to the San Francisco Bay Area. KPFA airs public news, public affairs, talk, and music programming. The station signed on the air April 15, 1949, as the first Pacifica Radio station and remains the flagship station of the Pacifica Radio Network. The station's studios are located in Downtown Berkeley, and the transmitter site is located in the Berkeley Hills. West Wind
A west wind is a wind that originates in the west and blows in an eastward direction. Mythology and Literature In European tradition, it has usually been considered the mildest and most favorable of the directional winds. In Greek mythology, Zephyrus was the personification of the west wind and the bringer of light spring and early summer breezes; his Roman equivalent was Favonius (hence the adjective ''favonian'', pertaining to the west wind). In Egyptian mythology, Ḥutchai is the god of the west wind. He was depicted as a man with the head of a serpent. Radio Paradise is a non-commercial listener-supported Internet radio station that helped to redefine the radio station for the internet era. It is known for high quality audio streams and curated playlists. The station is based in the United States but has a significant international audience, with many of the songs and station greetings on its "world" stream in multiple languages. The station is known familiarly as "RP".
