KZQZ was a commercial radio station that was licensed to serve St. Louis, Missouri at 1430 AM, and broadcast from 1922 to 2020. As WEB it was one of the first radio stations to have been established and licensed in the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area, and was known for most of its life as WIL. The Federal Communications Commission revoked the license for the station and its three co-owned stations in March 2020 after discovering that a convicted felon had effective control of the stations in their last years; despite the revocation, KZQZ and KQQZ continued to broadcast without a valid license into April 2020. KMOX
KMOX (1120 AM) is a commercial radio station in St. Louis, Missouri. Owned by Audacy, Inc., it is a 50,000 watt Class A clear-channel station with a non-directional signal. The KMOX studios and offices are on Olive Street at Tucker Boulevard in the Park Pacific Building in St. Louis. KMOX refers to itself as "NewsRadio 1120 - The Voice of St. Louis." It is considered the first U.S. station to program all talk shows around the clock. KMOX's transmitter is located off Route 162 in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. With a good radio, KMOX's nighttime signal can be heard in most of the Central United States and into Mexico and Canada. WDGY (740 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Hudson, Wisconsin, and serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul radio market. It is owned by WRPX, inc. and airs a Classic Hits/Oldies radio format. The station's studios and offices are in Lakeland, Minnesota, while its transmitter is off Commerce Drive near Interstate 94 in Hudson. This station is unrelated to the original WDGY, which was a popular top-40 station in the area during the 1950s, '60s and '70s. Because AM 740 is a Canadian clear channel frequency, WDGY is a daytime-only station. It must sign-off as sunset to prevent interfering with Class A CFZM in Toronto. WQNO is a station based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The station is owned by Catholic Community Radio, Inc. and broadcasts at 690 kHz with a power level of 9,100 watts daytime and 2,100 watts nighttime. The station mostly runs Roman Catholic programming from EWTN radio. The facilities of the station, previously called WTIX, were severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in late August 2005. The station had the target date to resume broadcasting on December 1, and in November requested the new letters WIST. Other stations have used the WTIX letters in the years since 2005. On November 6, 2014 WQNO was granted a Federal Communications Commission construction permit to decrease day power to 9,100 watts and decrease night power to 2,100 watts.
