KTGM (channel 14) is a television station in Tamuning, Guam, serving the U.S. territory as an affiliate of ABC. It is owned by Sorensen Media Group alongside low-power Fox affiliate KEQI-LD (channel 22). The two stations share studios on 111 Chalan Santo Papa in Hagåtña (Agana); KTGM's transmitter is located in the heights of Barigåda (Barrigada). History KTGM signed on the air in 1987, broadcasting on NTSC analog channel 14. It was Guam's second commercial TV station after KUAM-TV had signed on 31 years prior, and the first TV station of any kind on Guam in nearly 17 years since PBS member KGTF's sign on. KEQI-LD
KEQI-LD (channel 22) is a low-power television station in Dededo, Guam, serving the U.S. territory as an affiliate of the Fox network. It is owned by Sorensen Media Group alongside ABC affiliate KTGM (channel 14). Both stations share studios on 111 Chalan Santo Papa in Hagåtña (Agana), while KEQI-LD's transmitter is located in the heights of Barigåda (Barrigada). KEQI-LD's signal can be seen over the air in Hagåtña (Agana), Tamuneng (Tamuning), and Dededo. Its programming is also available island-wide on KTGM's second digital subchannel, on cable channel 6 on MCV Broadband and GTA's GUdTV systems in Guam, and on cable channel 10 on MCV Broadband in the Northern Mariana Islands. KUAM-LP
KUAM-LP, UHF analog channel 20, was a low-power CBS- affiliated television station serving the U.S. territory of Guam that was licensed to Tamuning. The station was owned by Pacific Telestations, Inc. History KUAM-LP began telecasting on November 20, 1995, with CBS programming, which had previously been shared between KTGM and sister station KUAM-TV, who wanted to focus more on their ABC and NBC affiliations, respectively. The move would result in adding more of their respective networks' programming for each station, as opposed to airing selected CBS shows for KUAM-TV and KTGM to air. KUAM-LP also carried programs from The WB on a secondary basis from their inception until June 2001, when it moved to KTGM. Rex Sorensen
Rex Sorensen (1943 – March 10, 2019) was the chairman and CEO of Sorensen Media Group. He was a founding board member of Air America Radio. Biography Sorensen was a graduate of the University of Oregon and was a Certified Public Accountant. Sorensen started his career in Hawaii as a real estate developer. Sorensen then became a media investor and broadcaster in the Pacific. Sorensen was the CEO of Sorensen Media Group, a privately held media and entertainment conglomerate, and the largest broadcast company in the Western Pacific with holdings in television, radio and Internet programming, development, production and broadcasting. Sorensen died on March 10, 2019, at the age of 73. KUAM-TV (channel 8) is a television station in Hagåtña (Agana), Guam, serving the U.S. territory as an affiliate of NBC and CBS. Owned by Pacific Telestations, LLC, it is sister to the local public access cable channel Local 2. KUAM-TV's studios are located at 600 Harmon Loop in Dededo, and its transmitter is located east-northeast of Agat. KGUM (AM)
KGUM, (567 AM) is a radio station licensed to serve the community of Hagåtña, Guam. Owned by Sorensen Media Group, it broadcasts a news/talk format branded as ''News Talk K57''. Although KGUM broadcasts at 567 kHz, most U.S. radios tune in 10 kHz increments only; the station has thus marketed itself as being on the next nearest frequency, 570. Stations in Guam fall within the jurisdiction of the Geneva Frequency Plan of 1975, instead of the North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement used in the U.S. mainland. Analog television is the original television technology that uses analog signals to transmit video and audio. In an analog television broadcast, the brightness, colors and sound are represented by amplitude, instantaneous phase and frequency, phase and frequency of an analog signal. KGTF
KGTF, virtual and VHF digital channel 12, is a Public Broadcasting Service ( PBS) member television station serving the U.S. territory of Guam that is licensed to Hagåtña. The station is owned by the Guam Educational Telecommunications Corporation, an agency of the territorial government. KGTF's studios are located in Mangilao, adjacent to Guam Community College, and its transmitter is located on Mount Barrigada in Barrigada. KGTF currently operates from 6 a.m. to midnight seven days a week. Guam Highway 1
Guam Highway 1 (GH-1), also known as Marine Corps Drive, is one of the primary automobile routes in the United States territory of Guam. It runs in a southwest-to-northeast direction, from the main gate of Naval Base Guam in the southwestern village of Santa Rita in a northeasterly direction to the main gate of Andersen Air Force Base in the village of Yigo.
