KGUM (AM)
KGUM, (567 AM) is a radio station licensed to serve the community of Hagåtña, Guam. Owned by Sorensen Media Group, it broadcasts a news/talk format branded as ''News Talk K57''. Although KGUM broadcasts at 567 kHz, most U.S. radios tune in 10 kHz increments only; the station has thus marketed itself as being on the next nearest frequency, 570. Stations in Guam fall within the jurisdiction of the Geneva Frequency Plan of 1975, instead of the North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement used in the U.S. mainland. KGUM's sister stations include FM stations KZGZ and KGUM-FM, TV stations KTGM and KEQI-LD, and additional stations in the Northern Mariana Islands. History KATB went on the air in February 1975. It was owned by Magof, Inc., a company of A. T. Bordallo. Bordallo died in 1977, and the station was transferred to his estate. Hagåtña, Guam
Hagåtña (; ; formerly in English: Agana , in Spanish: Agaña) is the capital village of the United States territory of Guam. From the 18th through mid-20th century, it was Guam's population center, but today it is the second smallest of the island's 19 villages in both area and population. However, it remains one of the island's major commercial districts in addition to being the seat of government. Etymology "Hagåt" (also romanized as ''haga, with a glottal stop instead of a syllable-final "t") means "blood" in the Chamorro language. KEQI-LD (channel 22) is a low-power television station in Dededo, Guam, serving the U.S. territory as an affiliate of the Fox network. It is owned by Sorensen Media Group alongside ABC affiliate KTGM (channel 14). Both stations share studios on 111 Chalan Santo Papa in Hagåtña (Agana), while KEQI-LD's transmitter is located in the heights of Barigåda (Barrigada). KEQI-LD's signal can be seen over the air in Hagåtña (Agana), Tamuneng (Tamuning), and Dededo. KTGM (channel 14) is a television station in Tamuning, Guam, serving the U.S. territory as an affiliate of ABC. It is owned by Sorensen Media Group alongside low-power Fox affiliate KEQI-LD (channel 22). The two stations share studios on 111 Chalan Santo Papa in Hagåtña (Agana); KTGM's transmitter is located in the heights of Barigåda (Barrigada). The North American Regional Broadcasting Agreement (NARBA, es, Convenio Regional Norteamericano de Radiodifusión) refers to a series of international treaties that defined technical standards for AM band (mediumwave) radio stations.
