History This station received its original construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission on January 26, 2006. The new station was assigned the call letters KQJZ by the FCC on April 26, 2006. In November 2006, permit holder Advance Acquisition, Inc., reached an agreement to sell this still-under construction station to Anderson Radio Broadcasting, Inc., for a reported sale price of $200,000. The deal was approved by the FCC on January 12, 2007, and after a series of extensions the transaction was consummated on February 29, 2008. Kalispell (, Montana Salish: Ql̓ispé, Kutenai language: kqayaqawakⱡuʔnam) is a city in, and the county seat of, Flathead County, Montana, United States. The 2020 census put Kalispell's population at 24,558. In Montana's northwest region, it is the largest city, and the commercial center, of the Kalispell Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name Kalispell is a Salish word meaning "flat land above the lake". History Using his own capital, Charles Edward Conrad, a businessman and banker from Fort Benton, Montana, formed the Kalispell Townsite Company with three other men. Evergreen is a census-designated place (CDP) in Flathead County, Montana, United States. Its population was 8,149 at the 2020 census, up from 7,616 at the 2010 census, and 6,215 in 2000. Geography Evergreen is located in central Flathead County at (48.228746, -114.273928), on the northeast side of Kalispell, the county seat. It is bordered to the east by the Flathead River, and the Whitefish River flows through the western side of the CDP. U.S. Route 2 passes through the community, leading northeast to West Glacier, at the entrance to Glacier National Park. The center of Kalispell is southwest of Evergreen via US 2 and U.S. Route 93.
