KK Zagreb
Košarkaški klub Zagreb ( en, Zagreb Basketball Club), commonly referred to as KK Zagreb or simply Zagreb, was a professional basketball club based in Zagreb, Croatia. It competed in the ABA League and the Croatian League. In the 2011–12 season, the club competed in the modern EuroLeague. History The club was founded in 1970 under the name KK Siget after the Siget neighbourhood in Zagreb. In 1976 it was renamed to KK Novi Zagreb to represent Novi Zagreb, part of Zagreb located south of the Sava river. After Croatia became independent country, "Novi" was just dropped out and the club name got its simpler and present form - KK Zagreb. From the beginnings Zagreb players were known under the nickname ''Ants'' as a symbol of hard work and team spirit. Trnsko
Trnsko is a neighbourhood of Zagreb, Croatia, located south of Dubrovnik Avenue in Novi Zagreb - zapad. The population is 5,331 (2011). Trnsko was one of Novi Zagreb's first neighbourhoods constructed in early 1960s. The streets have no names, but the orientation is easy - Trnsko 1 is on the north and Trnsko 49 on the far south of the neighbourhood. EuroChallenge
FIBA EuroChallenge (called the FIBA Europe League in 2003–05, and FIBA EuroCup in 2005–08) was the 3rd-tier level transnational men's professional continental club basketball competition in Europe, from 2003 to 2015. It was organized and run by FIBA Europe. It is not to be confused with the FIBA EuroCup Challenge – the now defunct 4th-tier level transnational men's professional continental club basketball competition in Europe, which was also organized and run by FIBA Europe, and played during the 2002–03 to 2006–07 seasons. Ivan Meheš
Ivan Meheš (born 1965 in Zagreb) is a Croatian professional basketball coach and former player. He started playing 1975 in basketball club KK Zapruđe. Professional basketball player career ended in 2000 when he started coaching in basketball club KK Dona Dubrava. Playing career Schools Meheš attended Karl Marx Elementary School in Zagreb, Croatia, where he anchored his athletic career by playing basketball. School was competing in Yugoslavian Elementary School Championship, Croatian Elementary School Championship and Radivoj Korać Cup. In 1979 they won first place in Croatian Elementary School Championship and first place in Radivoj Korać cup in Vogošća. Aleksandar Petrović (basketball, Born February 1959)
Aleksandar "Aco" Petrović (; born 16 February 1959) is a Croatian professional basketball coach and former player who is currently the head coach of the Croatia men's national team. Playing career A point guard or shooting guard, Petrović had achieved prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The pro clubs he played for included: Šibenka, Cibona, Scavolini Pesaro, Novi Zagreb and Racing Luxembourg. He was among the 105 player nominees for the 50 Greatest EuroLeague Contributors list. Coaching career Petrović started his club head coaching career with Cibona in 1991. Between 1995 and 1997, he coached the Spanish ACB League team Caja San Fernando, before returning to Cibona for the 1997–98 season. In the 2001–02 season, he went to Poland to coach Anwil Włocławek. The 2017–18 HT Premijer liga was the 27th season of the HT Premijer liga, the highest professional basketball league in Croatia. It started on 6 October 2017 and finished on 3 June 2018. Cedevita retained the title and achieved their fifth league overall. The Hrvatski Telekom Premijer liga ( en, Hrvatski Telekom Premier League, ), also known as HT Premijer liga or simply Premijer liga, is the first tier level men's professional basketball league in Croatia. It began in 1991, following the breakup of SFR Yugoslavia and therefore the Yugoslav League, and is organized by the Croatian Basketball Federation. The HT Premijer liga, which is played under FIBA rules, currently consists of 12 teams. The most successful club is KK Cibona with 19 championship titles.
