The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Oliver Popović ( sr-cyr, Оливер Поповић; born 18 March 1970) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. The men's team has been competing in the 4th-tier Second Regional League, West Division. History The club was founded in 1946 as KK Sloga. In the next year, they changed the name to Dinamo. The biggest success of the men's team was in 1961 when they played the Yugoslav First League. They finished that season with 1–17 record and got relegated. Nenad Čanak ( sr-cyr, Ненад Чанак, links=no; born April 24, 1976) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player who currently serves as the head coach for Lietkabelis Panevėžys of the Lithuanian Basketball League.
