Oliver Popović
Oliver Popović ( sr-cyr, Оливер Поповић; born 18 March 1970) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career He was a Yugoslav champion (1987, 1989, and 1998) and Cup holder (1989), silver medalist of Russian (2002) and Greek (2004) basketball championships; bronze medalist of 1988 European Champions' Cup, winner of 1989 Korać Cup and 2003 NEBL; finalist of the 2004 FIBA Euroleague. Coaching career On 7 August 2017, Popović was named a head coach of the Belgrade team Dynamic. On 19 December, he parted ways with Dynamic. On 21 June 2018, Popović became the head coach for Novi Pazar of the Basketball League of Serbia. He left Novi Pazar after the 2019–20 season. On 1 November 2020, Popović was hired as the new head coach for his hometown team Sloboda Užice. Basketball coaching is the act of directing and strategizing the behavior of a basketball team or individual basketball player. Basketball coaching typically encompasses the improvement of individual and team offensive and defensive skills, as well as overall physical conditioning. Coaches also have the responsibility to improve their team by player development, strategy, and in-game management. Coaches also teach and inspire their team to be their best. Coaching is usually performed by a single person, often with the help of one or more assistants. BC Khimik
Khimik Yuzhne ( uk, Хімік Южне) is a Ukrainian professional basketball club that is based in Yuzhne. The club plays in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. In 2006, the club reached the final of the EuroCup Challenge, where they were defeated by Ural Great Perm. History The team was founded in 2001 as BC Khimik. In the first season of the club, the team immediately finished in fourth place in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. In the 2014–15 season, Khimik won its first national championship after going undefeated in the entire season. In the regular season, Khimik finished 30–0 and in the Playoffs the team won all its six games. Yugoslavia Men's National Under-16 Basketball Team
The Yugoslavia men's national under-16 basketball team ( sh, Kadetska košarkaška reprezentacija Jugoslavije) was the boys' basketball team, administered by Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia, that represented SFR Yugoslavia in international under-16 (under age 16) men's basketball competitions, consisted mainly of the European Championship for Cadets, nowadays known as the FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. After the dissolution of SFR Yugoslavia in 1991, the successor countries all set up their own national under-16 teams. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia teams won the Championship, as of 2022. The 1987 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship (known at that time as 1987 European Championship for Cadets) was the 9th edition of the FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship. FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship
The FIBA U16 European Championship, previously known as the FIBA Europe Championship for Cadets, is a youth basketball competition that was inaugurated with the 1971 edition. Through the 2003 edition, it was held every second year, but since the 2004 edition onward, it is held every year.
