The Vestri men's basketball team, commonly known as Vestri, is a basketball team based in Ísafjörður, Iceland. The club was founded in 1965 as Körfuknattleiksfélag Ísafjarðar and held that name until it merged with newly founded Íþróttafélagið Vestri multi-sport club in 2016 and became its basketball department. Guðni Ólafur Guðnason
Guðni Ólafur Guðnason (born 14 December 1965) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach who played 76 games for the Iceland men's national basketball team, Icelandic national team. In 1986 he was named the Icelandic Basketball Player of the Year. As a member of KR men's basketball, KR, he won the Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), Icelandic championship once and the Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup, Icelandic Basketball Cup twice. Hrafn Kristjánsson
Hrafn Kristjánsson is an Icelandic former basketball coach and player. He was named the Úrvalsdeild Coach of the Year in the 2010–11 season, when he won the Icelandic championship with the KR. As a coach he has also won the Icelandic Basketball Cup two times (2011, 2015) and Icelandic Division I three times (2003, 2005, 2007). As a player he played 139 games in the Úrvalsdeild with KR and KFÍ, winning the national championship in 1990. Playing career Hrafn came up through the junior ranks of KR. He played his first games with the senior team during the 1988–1989 Úrvalsdeild season. The following season he appeared in 5 games for which went on to win the 1990 Icelandic championship. Pétur Már Sigurðsson
Pétur Már Sigurðsson (born 15 April 1978) is an Icelandic professional basketball coach and a former player. He is currently the head coach of Vestri. He is the former head coach of the Úrvalsdeild kvenna club Stjarnan and former assistant coach of the Icelandic men's national basketball team. He coached the men's national team during the 2013 Games of the Small States of Europe in the absence of Peter Öqvist. The team finished third with two wins and two losses. Career Pétur helped Skallagrímur reach the 2006 Úrvalsdeild finals, scoring 21 points in the fourth and deciding game against defending champions Keflavík in the semi-finals. Baldur Ingi Jónasson
Baldur Ingi Jónasson (born 15 July 1972) is an Icelandic basketball coach and player. He formerly coached Úrvalsdeild clubs Stjarnan and KFÍ. As a player, he spent 9 seasons in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla with KFÍ and Þór Akureyri, scoring 1,616 points in 192 games. Over his career, he has played over 30 season in the Icelandic basketball league system. Playing career After starting his career with Bolungarvík and splitting two seasons with ÍKÍ and Laugdælir, Baldur transferred to KFÍ in 1994. Borce Ilievski
Borce Ilievski (born August 3, 1972) is a Macedonian-Icelandic professional basketball coach. In 2019 he was named the Úrvalsdeild karla Coach of the Year after guiding ÍR to the Úrvalsdeild finals. Coaching career In 2006, Ilievski was hired as an assistant coach to KFÍ's men's team as well as the head coach of the club's youth program. He took over as head coach of the men's team in end of November 2006 after Baldur Ingi Jónasson resigned. Ungmennafélag Laugdæla, commonly known as Laugdælir, is a sports club located at Laugarvatn in the southern part of Iceland. It was founded on 5 March 1908. Anthony Garbelotto (born 2 January 1969) is an English basketball coach who coaches the NSH Mountain Gold Timika of the Indonesian Basketball League Coaching career Garbelotto started his coaching career with hometown club London Towers in 1992, as an assistant coach, leaving the post just two years later. In 1997 he joined up with the England team set-up where he was again an assistant coach, before being promoted to head coach of the Under-23 team in 1998. Clifton Bush II (born 1 September 1970) is an American-New Zealand former professional basketball player who played the majority of his career in the New Zealand National Basketball League (NBL).
