KAVU-TV (channel 25) is a television station in Victoria, Texas, United States, affiliated with ABC. Owned by Morgan Murphy Media, it is the largest station in the Victoria Television Group, which also includes the low-power affiliates of NBC ( KMOL-LD channel 17), CBS ( KXTS-LD channel 41), Univision ( KUNU-LD channel 21), Telemundo ( KVTX-LD channel 45), and Cozi TV ( KQZY-LD channel 33); additionally, Morgan Murphy provides certain services to Fox affiliate KVCT (channel 19) under a local marketing agreement (LMA) with SagamoreHill Broadcasting. The Victoria Television Group studios are located on North Navarro Street, with transmitter facilities on Farm to Market Road 236 west of the city. KAVU-TV was established in 1982 as the second full-service TV station in Victoria. The Evening Telegram Company, d/b/a Morgan Murphy Media, is an American television and radio company based out of Madison, Wisconsin. The company is named for publisher Morgan Murphy, who expanded the business after he took over from his grandfather, who founded the '' Superior Evening Telegram'' (now owned by Forum Communications). History The company was originally known as Morgan Murphy Stations until 2007, when its operating name was slightly changed to Morgan Murphy Media. On May 10, 2017, the company announced that it would acquire Saga Communications' television clusters in Joplin, Missouri, including KOAM-TV, and Victoria, Texas, including KAVU-TV. KEDT (channel 16) is a PBS member television station in Corpus Christi, Texas, United States. It is owned by South Texas Public Broadcasting System alongside NPR member KEDT-FM (90.3). The two outlets share studios on South Staples Street in Corpus Christi; the TV station's transmitter is located near Petronila, Texas. History KEDT was created by businessman Charles Butt to bring public television to south Texas.
