Jänhijoki (river)
Jänhijoki is a tributary of Loimijoki river in Finland. Its sources are in lake Jänijärvi in the Tammela municipality in the Tavastia Proper region in Finland. It starts as river Peräjoki, flowing northwest from Jänijärvi towards Jokioinen. The name changes to Jänhijoki where the Peräjoki river and Tyytynoja creek merge. When reaching Jokioinen it flows past the villages of Jänhijoki, past Minkiö railway station where it is crossed over by the Jänhijoki railway bridge and to Kiipu before merging with river Loimijoki The river Loimijoki is a river in Finland and the longest tributary of the river Kokemäenjoki. Minkiö Railway Station
Minkiö railway station ( fi, Minkiön asema) is a neighborhood of the Kiipu village and a railway station at the Jokioinen Museum Railway, situated north of the Minkiö village on the northern shore of the Jänhijoki (river), river Jänhijoki, and on the western side of the Jänhijoki village in the municipality of Jokioinen. The neighborhood which developed around the railway station is located about eight kilometers from the center of Jokioinen and about eight kilometers from Humppila. The station building of Minkiö (Miö) was built in 1898 when the Jokioinen Railway was constructed. The name of the station has always been Minkiö, even the actual village of Minkiö is located about south of the station, near the present day Jokioinen railway station of the Jokioinen Museum Railway. Jänhijoki Railway Bridge
Jänhijoki railway bridge is a railway bridge in the village of Minkiö railway station in Jokioinen municipality, in the Tavastia Proper region of Finland. The bridge crosses the ''Jänhijoki'' river approximately south of Minkiö railway station on the narrow gauge Jokioinen Museum Railway. The bridge is the oldest railway bridge in Finland still in railway use. It was taken in service in 1898, when the original narrow gauge Jokioinen Railway was built to connect Humppila with Jokioinen and Forssa. When the narrow gauge railway was discontinued, the bridge was to be demolished and the tracks were to be lifted. The volunteers of museum railway placed a steam locomotive on the bridge to prevent the bridge being scrapped. Kiipu
Kiipu is a Finnish village of about 600 inhabitants situated close to the Highway 2 along the river Jänhijoki in them municipality of Jokioinen in the Tavastia Proper region. The village is located approximately north from the centre of Jokioinen, and about north-east of the town of Forssa. The village was selected as the ''Village of Tavastia in 2003''. The written history of Kiipu begins in the 14th century. The first map of the village was drawn in 1710.
