Danish Grand Prix
The Danish Grand Prix was an auto race for open-wheel cars. Last held for Formula One cars in 1962, the race is now defunct. The Danish Grand Prix was held at the Roskilde Ring circuit near Roskilde. By standards of the era, the circuit was very small, at just three-quarters of a mile for the lap. Formula One cars were completing the lap in just over 42 seconds. The circuit ultimately limited the growth potential of the race, and the event was not considered to be added to the World Drivers Championship, but during its relatively short life in the 1960s, it did stage some memorable races. The original race in 1960 was a Formula Two race won by Jack Brabham in a Cooper-Climax. The meeting was marred though by the death of emerging New Zealander George Lawton. The following year the race was upgraded to Formula One regulations and Stirling Moss took the win for the ...

Formula 5000
Formula 5000 (or F5000) was an open wheel, single seater auto-racing formula that ran in different series in various regions around the world from 1968 to 1982. It was originally intended as a low-cost series aimed at open-wheel racing cars that no longer fit into any particular formula. The '5000' denomination comes from the maximum 5.0 litre engine capacity allowed in the cars, although many cars ran with smaller engines. Manufacturers included McLaren, Eagle, March, Lola, Lotus, Elfin, Matich and Chevron. In its declining years in North America Formula 5000 was modified into a closed wheel, but still single-seat sports car racing category. F5000 around the world North America Formula 5000 was introduced in 1968 as a class within SCCA Formula A races, a series where single seaters from different origins were allowed to compete, but which rapidly came to be dominated by the cars equipped with production-based American V8s. The engines used were generally 5 litre, fuel i ...

All vehicles that participate in motorsports must adhere to the regulations that are set out by the respective global governing body. Race Track
A race track (racetrack, racing track or racing circuit) is a facility built for racing of vehicles, athletes, or animals (e.g. horse racing or greyhound racing). A race track also may feature grandstands or concourses. Race tracks are also used in the study of animal locomotion. A ''racetrack'' is a permanent facility or building. ''Racecourse'' is an alternate term for a horse racing track, found in countries such as the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates. Race tracks built for bicycles are known as ''velodromes''. ''Circuit'' is a common alternate term for race track, given the circuit configuration of most race tracks, allowing races to occur over several laps. Some race tracks may also be known as ''speedways'', or ''raceways''. A ''race course'', as opposed to a ''racecourse'', is a nonpermanent track for sports, particularly road running, water sports, road racing, or rallying. Many sports usually held on race tracks also can occ ...
