Kolovrat (mountain Ridge)
Kolovrat ( fur, Colorât, it, Colovrat) is a mountain ridge of the Julian Prealps on the border between Slovenia and Italy, west of Tolmin and southeast of Kobarid. It is a geographical border between the Soča Valley in Slovenia and the Venetian Slovenia region of Italy. It extends about 7 km at an elevation between 800 and 1150 m. There are two roads on the ridge, one from the Italian side, accessible from Drenchia, and one from the Slovenian side, accessible from the villages of Livek and Volče. Between the 15th and late 18th centuries, the Kolovrat Ridge used to be the border between the Habsburg monarchy and the Venetian Republic. Between 1866 and 1918, the border between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Italy also ran along the same line. Between 1947 and 1991, it was the border between Italy and Yugoslavia. Volče, Tolmin
Volče (; it, Volzana) is a settlement on the right bank of the Soča River in the Municipality of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia, close to the border with Italy. Name Volče was attested in historical sources as ''Volzana'' in 1295, ''Olza'' in 1338, ''Walçana'' in 1340, and ''Volzane'' in 1341. The Torre ( Friulian: ''Tôr''; sl, Ter) is a river of the Province of Udine in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeast Italy. It is the main right tributary of the Isonzo; the Torre together with its own tributary the Natisone drain a large part of the Isonzo basin. Gorizia Hills
The Gorizia Hills ( it, Collio Goriziano or ''Collio''; sl, Goriška brda or ''Brda''; fur, Cuei) is a hilly microregion in western Slovenia and northeastern Italy. It lies on the right bank of the Soča (''Isonzo'') river, north of the Italian town of Gorizia, after which it is named. The region has around 120 square kilometres and 7,000 inhabitants, mostly ethnic Slovenes, with a small number of Friulian speakers in its westernmost part (in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio).
