Juan José Menéndez Gutiérrez de la Torre (15 May 1929 – 7 November 2003) better known as Juanjo Menéndez was a Spanish actor. He appeared in more than 90 films and television shows between 1953 and 1997. He starred in the film '' El Lazarillo de Tormes'', which won the Golden Bear at the 10th Berlin International Film Festival. The Golden Bear (german: Goldener Bär) is the highest prize awarded for the best film at the Berlin International Film Festival. The bear is the heraldic animal of Berlin, featured on both the coat of arms and flag of Berlin. History The winners of the first Berlin International Film Festival in 1951 were determined by a West German panel, with five winners of the Golden Bear, divided by categories and genres.
