Journal Of Asia Adventist Seminary
''Journal of Asia Adventist Seminary'' (JAAS) is a refereed scholarly Christian journal published by the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies. Formerly titled ''Asia Adventist Seminary Studies'', it is issued twice a year from Silang, Cavite. The journal was founded in 1999 and currently has a circulation of 200 copies. AUSS publishes research articles and brief notes on the following topics: biblical archaeology and history of antiquity; Hebrew Bible; New Testament; church history of all periods; historical, biblical, and systematic theology; ethics; history of religion and mission; and selected research articles on ministry and Christian education. Abstracts of Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies dissertations in religion are also published. Articles appear in English. The Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) (pronounced "I-Us"), is a Seventh-day Adventist graduate institution located in the Philippines, offering graduate degrees in Business, Education, Public health, and Theology. It is a part of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. AIIAS is a truly international institution, with faculty representing 18 countries. The institution has thus far served students from 123 countries around the world. AIIAS is composed of two schools: the Seminary and the Graduate School. Silang, officially the Municipality of Silang ( tgl, Bayan ng Silang), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 295,644 people. Silang is located in the eastern section of Cavite. It is home to the Philippine National Police Academy, PDEA Academy, and International Institute of Rural Reconstruction head office. With the continuous expansion of Metro Manila, the municipality is now part of the Manila's conurbation which spans southward toward Lipa City. History Pre-Hispanic period The traditional origins of the town are attributed to ten Bornean datus who sailed northward on board balangays and ended in Silang through Taal Lake. Seventh-day Adventist Church
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is an Adventist Protestant Christian denomination which is distinguished by its observance of Saturday, the seventh day of the week in the Christian (Gregorian) and the Hebrew calendar, as the Sabbath, and its emphasis on the imminent Second Coming (advent) of Jesus Christ. The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the mid-19th century and it was formally established in 1863. Among its co-founders was Ellen G. White, whose extensive writings are still held in high regard by the church. Much of the theology of the Seventh-day Adventist Church corresponds to common evangelical Christian teachings, such as the Trinity and the infallibility of Scripture.
