Jostein Einar Erstad (27 May 1922 – 2 July 2011) was a Norwegian jurist. He was born in Skodje. He was a police superintendent in Oslo from 1962 to 1966, teacher at the Norwegian Police Academy from 1966 to 1971, public prosecutor in Eidsivating Court of Appeal from 1971 to 1981, chief public prosecutor from 1981 to 1982 and director of the Norwegian Police Surveillance Agency from 1982 to 1990. Skodje
Skodje (''pronunciation'': kɔʏəor køʏə is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It was part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre was the village of Skodje. The other main village in the municipality was Valle. The European Route E39/ E136 highway runs through the municipality, connecting it to the nearby cities of Ålesund and Molde. Eidsivating Court Of Appeal
The Eidsivating Court of Appeal ( no, Eidsivating lagmannsrett) is one of six courts of appeal in the Kingdom of Norway. The Court is located in the city of Hamar. Arne Treholt (born 13 December 1942) is a Norwegian-born, Russia-based convicted felon and former KGB agent who was convicted of treason and espionage on behalf of the Soviet Union against Norway during the Cold War and sentenced to 20 years in prison. Gunnar Haarstad (12 November 1916 – 13 April 1992) was a Norwegian jurist and police officer, a resistance member during World War II, and later head of the Norwegian Police Security Service, Norwegian Police Surveillance Agency for fifteen years. Early life and career Haarstad was born in Nittedal as the son of police sergeant Jørgen Haarstad and Agnes Azora Bordoe. One of his hobbies was sports shooting. He competed at the national competition Landsskytterstevnet several times, winning his junior class three years in a row. In his first senior year he placed fourth. He was also present at the 1937 ISSF World Shooting Championships in Helsinki, where he participated in a shooting competition between the Scandinavian Capital (political), capitals. Svein Urdal (born 28 November 1941) is a Norwegian jurist. He was born in Horten, and graduated with the cand.jur. degree in 1970. He was a sub-director at Ullersmo prison from 1972 to 1977, police superintendent in Vadsø from 1977 to 1980, police inspector in Hamar 1980 to 1987 and chief of police in Troms from 1987 to 1990. In 1990 he was appointed as director of the Norwegian Police Surveillance Agency, but had to resign already in 1991, as it was discovered that the agency had permitted Mossad to interrogate PLO defectors on Norwegian soil.
