Joseph Mount
Joseph Patrick Kennith Mount (born 11 September 1982) is an English musician and record producer. He is the founder of British band Metronomy. Biography Mount started out as a rock and roll drummer, playing in various bands at school and then in his mid teens with The Upsides and The Customers. He also taught drums to kids in his local area. His first forays into electronic music started with him buying an old G3 computer from his father. It was with this setup that he set about creating beats and discovered he knew a lot more about melody than he thought he did and he began to compose music under the Metronomy moniker. Mount attended Brighton University; fellow alumni are Samuel Preston, Good Shoes, The Maccabees and DJ Scotch Egg. Totnes
Totnes ( or ) is a market town and civil parishes in England, civil parish at the head of the estuary of the River Dart in Devon, England, within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is about west of Paignton, about west-southwest of Torquay and about east-northeast of Plymouth. It is the administrative centre of the South Hams District Council. Totnes has a long recorded history, dating back to 907, when its first castle was built. The Maccabees (band)
The Maccabees were an English indie rock band, formed in 2004 in London. They released four albums: ''Colour It In'' in 2007, followed by ''Wall of Arms'' in 2009, ''Given to the Wild'' which was released on 9 January 2012 and their last album ''Marks to Prove It'' released on 31 July 2015. The band announced that they decided to disband in August 2016, with farewell gigs in 2017. Name The band came up with the name by flicking through the Bible and picking out a random word. Anita Blay is a British-Ghanaian singer and songwriter, formerly known by the stage name CocknBullKid (previously thecocknbullkid). She released her debut single in 2008 and her debut album, ''Adulthood'', in 2011. Blay currently writes for other artists - and is part of the dance music duo Antony & Cleopatra and the London-based music collective Kommunion. Early life Blay was born in Clapton, east London to Ghanaian parents and raised in the city's Hackney area. Her mother left the family when she was 12 years old. Rodney Hylton Smith, better known by his stage name Roots Manuva (born 9 September 1972), is a British rapper and producer. Since his debut in 1994, he has produced numerous albums and singles on the label Big Dada, achieving commercial success with albums ''Run Come Save Me'' and ''Slime & Reason''. Blowzabella
Blowzabella is an English folk band formed in London in 1978. The band currently consists of Andy Cutting, Jo Freya, Paul James, David Shepherd, Barn Stradling, and Jon Swayne; members of the band have changed multiple times since their inception, with Jon Swayne being the only remaining original band member. It is estimated that Blowzabella musicians played between 26 and 32 instruments in total, which include bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy, diatonic button accordion, alto sax, and triangle. Their music is heavily influenced by English and European traditional folk music, and has inspired a variety of European folk bands with their unique style and sound. Many European folk artists attribute Blowzabella as a major influence in their music. The Ramones
The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first true punk rock group. Despite achieving a limited commercial appeal in the United States during their time together, the band saw more success in England and Brazil, and are today seen as highly influential. Autechre () is an English electronic music duo consisting of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, both from Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
