Joseph-Guillaume-Laurent Forbes
Joseph-Guillaume-Laurent Forbes (August 10, 1865-May 22, 1940) was a Canadian Roman Catholic priest and the Archbishop of Ottawa. Forbes was born on August 10, 1865, probably in Île Perrot, Lower Canada. He was the second of 16 children, and in 1869 moved to Montreal with his family. He did his theological training at the Grand Séminaire de Montréal and was ordained a priest by Édouard-Charles Fabre in 1888. In 1913 he was appointed the Bishop of Joliette, and in 1928, he was appointed the Archbishop of Ottawa Ottawa (, ; Canadian French: ) is the capital city of Canada. Édouard-Charles Fabre
Édouard-Charles Fabre (February 28, 1827 – December 30, 1896) was Archbishop of Montreal in 1886 and of Sherbrooke and Saint-Hyacinthe in 1887. Fabre was the eldest of 11 children in an important Montreal business family. Despite the efforts of his father, Édouard-Raymond Fabre, to steer him in another direction, he began his study of philosophy in 1844 at the seminary of Saint-Sulpice at Issy-les-Moulineaux after a privileged education in Lower Canada. In 1846 Fabre finished his studies at Saint-Sulpice, visited Rome and met Pope Pius IX and returned to Montreal. He was ordained in 1850. In 1876 Fabre became the third bishop of Montreal and, in 1886, Pope Leo XIII made him Archbishop of Montreal, and the following year the dioceses of Sherbrooke and Saint-Hyacinthe. The University of Ottawa (french: Université d'Ottawa), often referred to as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Joliette
Joliette is a city in southwest Quebec, Canada. It is approximately northeast of Montreal, on the L'Assomption River and is the seat of the Regional County Municipality of Joliette. It is considered to be a part of the North Shore of Greater Montreal. The city is home to the Joliette Art Museum, whose works of art include paintings, sculptures, paper artwork and a large collection of art from the French Middle Ages.
