Jorge Guillermo
Jorge Pérez y Guillermo (born August 1, 1946) was the husband of Princess Christina of the Netherlands between 1975 and the couple's divorce in late 1996. He was accordingly brother-in-law to Queen Beatrix between 1980 and 1996. He is also a noted art collector. Since 1996 he has generally avoided gratuitous publicity. Life Family provenance and early years Jorge Guillermo was born in Havana, Cuba where he attended school until 1960. Federico Gilberto Pérez y Castillo (1911-1967), his father, was a physician with connections to the political establishment. Dr. Edenia Mercedes Guillermo y Marrero (1925-2002), his mother, held a series of senior positions in education administration, by 1960 combining her duties as director of education of the Province of Havana with a lectureship. Cornell College
Cornell College is a private college in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Originally the Iowa Conference Seminary, the school was founded in 1853 by George Bryant Bowman. Four years later, in 1857, the name was changed to Cornell College, in honor of iron tycoon William Wesley Cornell. Academics Cornell students study ''one course at a time'' (commonly referred to as "the block plan" or "OCAAT"). Since 1978, school years have been divided into "blocks" of three-and-a-half weeks each (usually followed by a four-day "block break" to round out to four weeks), during which students are enrolled in a single class; what would normally be covered in a full semester's worth of class at a typical university is covered in just eighteen Cornell class days. Frank Houben
Frank Johannes Maria Houben is the former Queen's Commissioner for the Dutch province of North Brabant in between 22 April 1987 and 1 October 2003, when he retired after 16 years of service for Beatrix of the Netherlands. His successor was Hanja Maij-Weggen. Previously he was mayor of Luyksgestel, Vessem, Wintelre en Knegsel, and Etten-Leur. On 20 September 2003 the mayors of the province of North Brabant planted trees in Houben Forest as a tribute to his work. The Houben forest is located near Nemerlaer Castle in the municipality of Haaren in the province of North Brabant.
