John Millson (Canadian Politician)
John Millson is a Canadian politician and businessman. He served as mayor of Windsor, Ontario, from 1988 to 1991, later becoming president of the Windsor Raceway. In 2009 he co-founded Great Lakes Energy Limited. Biography Millson attended J.L. Forster Secondary School, where he joined the school band. He later recalled that the band teacher, Ernie Gerenda, had given him and the other band members tough love, at times being a bully, and at times playing practical jokes. Millson later attended the University of Windsor. Millson ran successfully for alderman of Windsor's Ward 2 in 1982. He later defeated incumbent Ted Bounsall by a margin of 2,764 votes. Millson was elected as mayor of Windsor in 1988 with a total of 31,303 votes, taking office in November. He did not run for reelection in 1991 in order to spend more time with his family. Mike Hurst (politician)
Michael D. Hurst (born 9 March 1950) is a municipal politician in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He served as 32nd Mayor of the city of Windsor from 1991 to 2003, and oversaw several major changes in the city's development. Early life and career Hurst was born in Windsor, and holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from the University of Windsor. He practiced law in private life, and unsuccessfully campaigned for the Windsor city council in 1982. Councillor Hurst was elected to the Windsor City Council during a by-election in 1987, and was re-elected the 1988 municipal election. He represented the city's first ward. He was the only member of the Windsor council to vote against a financial bailout for the Windsor Symphony Orchestra in 1988, arguing that the orchestra was making itself financially unviable by spending too much money on new members. Windsor Raceway was a standardbred harness racing track located in Windsor, Ontario. The track was 5/8 of a mile in length. The facility closed August 31, 2012. The inaugural race took place on October 22, 1965, with ''Castle Direct'' driven by Fred Roloson, the first horse to ever cross the line with a time of 2:10. Sandra Pupatello (née Pizzolitto; born October 6, 1962) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. She served in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 2011 as a member of the Ontario Liberal Party, serving as a Minister in the government of Dalton McGuinty.
