John Cleary (Gaelic Footballer)
John Cleary (born 20 June 1963) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer who played as a left corner-forward at senior level for the Cork county team. Born in Castlehaven, County Cork, Cleary first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 1983 championship. Cleary immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen and won two All-Ireland medals, three Munster medals and one National Football League medal. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on three occasions. Cleary was a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions but never won a Railway Cup medal. At club level he is a three-time Munster medallist with Castlehaven. In addition to this Cleary also on two championship medals. Castlehaven GAA
Castlehaven Gaelic Football Club is a Cork GAA club in the parish of Castlehaven near the town of Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. The club also draws players from the villages of Union Hall, Castletownshend and Tragumna. The club participates in competitions run by Cork GAA and by the Carbery divisional board. The club is primarily concerned with the game of Gaelic football, but has fielded hurling teams in the past. They went from playing at Junior B level in 1969 to reaching the Cork Senior Football Championship final only 10 years later. Niall Cahalane
Niall Cahalane (born 25 September 1963) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. His league and championship career at senior level with the Cork county team spanned fourteen seasons from 1983 to 1997. Football career Born in Castlehaven, County Cork, Cahalane first played competitive Gaelic football at juvenile and underage levels with the Castlehaven club. After winning a number of divisional and county championship medals in all grades from under-12 to under-21, Cahalane joined the senior team in 1979. In a 25-year senior club career he won three Munster medals and three county senior championship medal. He also played hurling with Blackrock. Cahalane made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he was selected for the Cork minor team. All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The Electric Ireland All-Ireland Minor Football Championship is the premier under-17 "knockout" competition in Gaelic football played in Ireland. 2017 was the final year of the minor under 18 football championship as it were replaced by an under 17 championship following a vote at the GAA congress on 26 February 2016. The series of games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association and are played during the summer months with the All-Ireland Minor Football Final being played on the third Sunday in September in Croke Park, Dublin as the curtain-raiser to the senior final. Munster Minor Football Championship
The Munster Minor Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1928 for the youngest competitors (under-18) in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is currently sponsored by Electric Ireland and therefore officially known as the Electric Ireland Munster GAA Football Minor Championship. The series of games are played during the summer months with the Munster final currently being played on the second Sunday in July. The minor final provides the curtain-raiser to the senior final. The winning team is presented with the Tadhg Crowley Cup. Fethard GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association gaelic football club located in the medieval town of Fethard, County Tipperary in Ireland. The club is affiliated to the South Division of Tipperary GAA. They have been Tipperary Senior Football champions on a record twenty one occasions. History The Tipperary county footballers that were attacked at Croke Park on Bloody Sunday of 1920 wore the Grangemockler colours. Beara GAA is a division of Cork GAA, and is responsible for organizing Gaelic Athletic Association games in the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. It is one of eight divisions of Cork County Board. It organizes competitions for the clubs within the division, from Under 12 up to the adult level. Clonmel Commercials GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football club located in the town of Clonmel in County Tipperary, Ireland. The club is part of the South Division of Tipperary GAA. They have been Tipperary Senior Football champions on twenty occasions since their formation in 1934. O'Donovan Rossa or Skibbereen is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. It participates in Cork GAA competitions.
