Joe Murray (British Boxer)
Joseph Murray (born 3 January 1987) is a former amateur boxer from Levenshulme, Manchester, England. He is best known for winning a medal at the 2007 World Amateur Boxing Championships at bantamweight and has signed professional terms with Hatton Promotions. His brother John is the former British Lightweight champion. He got married in Wilmslow Cheshire in March 2014. He is a former pupil of Wright Robinson Sports College in Gorton, Manchester. Amateur career Murray, a former roommate of Amir Khan, represented the Moss Side ABC in the British championships semi-finals in 2006 winning a silver medal. At the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Chicago Murray defeated Carlos Cuadras, Commonwealth Games silver medallist Mauritian, southpaw, Bruno Julie by 26:19. Bradley Saunders
Bradley Saunders (born 4 February 1986) is a British professional boxer. As an amateur he won a silver medal in the light welterweight division at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, gold at the 2009 EU Championships and bronze at the 2007 World Championships. Amateur career Saunders won the British championships in 2006 whilst representing South Durham ABC.. Frankie Gavin (boxer)
Frankie Raymond Gavin (born 28 September 1985) is a British professional boxer. He held the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles between 2012 and 2015, and has challenged once for the IBF welterweight title in 2015. As an amateur, Gavin won a gold medal in the lightweight division at the 2007 World Championships, becoming England's first ever winner of that event. He also won lightweight gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Enkhbatyn Badar-Uugan
Enkhbatyn Badar-Uugan ( mn, Энхбатын Бадар-Ууган; born 3 June 1985, in Ulaanbaatar) is a retired boxer from Mongolia who became the first Olympic boxing champion from his country when he won the gold medal in the Bantamweight (-54 kg) division at the 2008 Summer Olympics. He was the second Mongolian to win Olympic gold in any sport, with judoka Naidangiin Tüvshinbayar winning the first only a few days earlier. Bruno Julie
Louis Richard Bruno Julie (born July 11, 1978), known as Bruno Julie, is a Mauritian bantamweight boxer who won a number of medals in international tournaments and competed in the 2008 Olympics when he won the first-ever Olympic medal for the island of Mauritius. Career In his first major tournament, at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, Julie reached the quarter-finals. Four years later in 2006 he reached the final by defeating Mmoloki Nogeng, losing only to Indian Akhil Kumar. He also finished second in the African Championships the same year. Southpaw (boxing)
In boxing and some other sports, a southpaw stance is where the boxer has the right hand and the right foot forward, leading with right jabs, and following with a left cross right hook. It is the normal stance for a left-handed boxer. The corresponding boxing designation for a right-handed boxer is the orthodox stance, which is generally a mirror-image of the southpaw stance. In American English, "southpaw" generally refers to a person who is left-handed. Strategy Left-handed boxers are usually taught to fight in a southpaw stance, but right-handed fighters can also fight in the southpaw stance for many reasons such as tricking the opponent into a false sense of safety. Carlos Roberto Cuadras Quiroa (born August 24, 1988) is a Mexican professional boxer who held the WBC super flyweight title from 2014 to 2016. As an amateur he won a gold medal in the bantamweight division at the 2007 Pan American Games. Amateur Boxing Association Of England
England Boxing, known until 2013 as the Amateur Boxing Association of England, is the governing body of amateur boxing clubs in England. There are separate organisations for Scotland and Wales with boxing in Northern Ireland being organised on an All-Ireland basis. The Association was founded in 1880.
