Jochen Hick
Jochen Hick (born April 2, 1960 in Darmstadt) is a German film director and producer of mainly independent feature and documentary films, also specialising in LGBT subjects. In 1994 he founded the film and TV production company GALERIA ALASKA PRODUCTIONS, based in Hamburg and Berlin. He worked and produced for several production companies and TV channels and contributed to TV documentary programs such as ARD-Exclusiv or SPIEGEL TV Reportage. 2007-2010 he is as well editor-in-chief, head of program acquisitions and co-programming director of TIMM, the first TV channel for gay male audiences in German speaking countries, which has been on the air since November 1, 2008. His 2008 documentary '' East/West – Sex & Politics'' concerns Nikolai Alekseev's attempts to organise the 2007 Moscow Pride event. West Berlin (german: Berlin (West) or , ) was a political enclave which comprised the western part of Berlin during the years of the Cold War. The 53rd annual Berlin International Film Festival was held from February 6–16, 2003. The festival opened with musical film ''Chicago (2002 film), Chicago'' by Rob Marshall and closed with Martin Scorsese's ''Gangs of New York'', both films played out of competition at the festival. Teddy Award
The Teddy Award is an international film award for films with LGBT topics, presented by an independent jury as an official award of the Berlin International Film Festival (the Berlinale). In the most part, the jury consists of organisers of gay and lesbian film festivals, who view films screened in all sections of the Berlinale; films do not have to have been part of the festival's official competition stream to be eligible for Teddy awards. Subsequently, a list of films meeting criteria for LGBT content is selected by the jury, and a 3,000-Euro Teddy is awarded to a feature film, a short film and a documentary. Moscow Pride
Moscow Pride (Russian Московский Гей-Прайд, Moscow Gay Pride) is a demonstration of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender persons (LGBT). It was intended to take place in May annually since 2006 in the Russian capital Moscow, but has been regularly banned by Moscow City Hall, headed by Mayor Yuri Luzhkov until 2010. The demonstrations in 2006, 2007, and 2008 were all accompanied by homophobic attacks, which was avoided in 2009 by moving the site of the demonstration at the last minute. The organizers of all of the demonstrations were Nikolai Alekseev and the Russian LGBT Human Rights Project Gayrussia.ru. In June 2012, Moscow courts enacted a hundred-year ban on gay pride parades.
