Jiří Pešek
Jiří Pešek (4 June 1927 in Prague – 20 May 2011) was a Czech football player and professional coach. Pešek played for several clubs, including Bohemians Praha (1939–1951), Sparta Prague (1952–1955) and SK Slavia Praha (1956–1959). He played for Czechoslovakia national team (11 matches and one goal), and was a participant at the 1954 FIFA World Cup, where he played in a match against Uruguay. He coached Viktoria Žižkov, Baník Příbram, Sparta Chicago, Panserraikos, Finland, Valur, North Yemen and India. Prague
Prague ( ; cs, Praha ; german: Prag, ; la, Praga) is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic, and the historical capital of Bohemia. Czechs
The Czechs ( cs, Češi, ; singular Czech, masculine: ''Čech'' , singular feminine: ''Češka'' ), or the Czech people (), are a West Slavic ethnic group and a nation native to the Czech Republic in Central Europe, who share a common ancestry, culture, history, and the Czech language. Ethnic Czechs were called Bohemians in English until the early 20th century, referring to the former name of their country, Bohemia, which in turn was adapted from the late Iron Age tribe of Celtic Boii. 1993 South Asian Association Of Regional Co-operation Gold Cup
The 1993 South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation Gold Cup was the 1st South Asian Football Federation Cup, held in Lahore, Pakistan (at Railway Stadium) between 16 July 1993 and 23 July 1993. The countries that competed in this tournament were India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Additionally, a Pakistan Junior team participated under the name of Pakistan White. However, their matches were not part of the tournament. This tournament was played as a league where the team which gets the highest points wins the competition. India won the tournament and became the first ever South Asian football champions. SAFF Championship
The South Asian Football Federation Championship, commonly known as SAFF Championship (previously known as ''South Asian Association of Regional Co-operation Gold Cup'' and ''South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup''), is the main international association football competition of the men's national football teams governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).
