JetCat
JetCat is a young female superhero who "flies like a jet, and fights like a cat", created by Jay Stephens (of ''Tutenstein'' and ''The Secret Saturdays'' fame), who first appeared in the weekly comic strip "Oddville!" beginning in 1994. The character resurfaced as the star of the 1997 Dark Horse Comics mini-series, "The Land Of Nod", which was later collected as the multiple Eisner-Award nominated ''The Land Of Nod Rockabye Book''. Jetcat next appeared in four animated shorts that aired in the final two seasons of Nickelodeon's ''KaBlam!''., which was nominated for an Annie Award. In 2001, Jetcat starred in a new comic book miniseries for Oni Press titled 'Jetcat Clubhouse', and returned to her original town of Oddville in the weekly comic strip series, 'Welcome to... KaBlam!
''KaBlam!'' (stylized as ''KaBLaM!'') is an American animated sketch comedy television series that ran on Nickelodeon from 1996 to 2000. The series was created by Robert Mittenthal, Will McRobb, and Chris Viscardi. The show was developed as a fully animated showcase for alternative forms of animation that were more common in indie films and commercials. Each episode thus features a collection of short films in different innovative styles of animation, bridged by the characters Henry and June, who introduce the short animations and have adventures of their own in between. Although SNICK aired many Nicktoons not part of its block, ''KaBlam!'' was the only Nicktoon created for SNICK. Jay Stephens (born March 22, 1971) is a Canadian cartoonist and animator currently living in Guelph, Ontario. He is best known as the creator of Discovery Kids's animated television series ''Tutenstein'' , Cartoon Network's ''The Secret Saturdays'', and the ''JetCat'' animated shorts for Nickelodeon's anthology series, ''KaBlam!''. ''Tutenstein'' is an American animated television series, produced by Porchlight Entertainment for Discovery Kids based on the comics by Jay Stephens. The series premiered on November 1, 2003 and ended on October 11, 2008. It features young mummy Tutankhensetamun (based on real-life Tutankhamun and usually called "Tutenstein" as in the title) who is awakened about 3,000 years after his accidental death and now must face the fact that his kingdom is gone. The name is a portmanteau of ''Tutankhamun'' and ''Frankenstein''. Beginning in August 2020, Yippee TV, the current owners of the series, made the series officially available for streaming on YouTube. The Secret Saturdays
''The Secret Saturdays'' is an American animated television series created by Canadian cartoonist Jay Stephens for Cartoon Network. It debuted on October 3, 2008 in the United States. The series follows the adventures of the Saturdays, a family of cryptozoologists that work to keep the truth about cryptids from getting out, to protect both the human race and the creatures themselves. The Saturdays travel the Earth searching for cryptids to study and battling twisted villains like the megalomaniac V.V. Argost. The series is influenced by 1960's-era Hanna-Barbera action series and is combined with Jay Stephens' own personal interest in cryptozoology. ''Brand New Planet'', also known as ''BNP'', was a youth magazine affiliated with the ''Toronto Star''. It was published between 2003 and 2007. History and profile ''Brand New Planet'' was founded in 2003. Once distributed in hard copy, via the Thursday edition of the ''Star'', it was later published solely as an online paper. Subscriptions were offered free of charge at its ''Toronto Star''-hosted website. The paper was delivered an email notification on Thursdays in PDF.
