Jesuit (band)
Jesuit was an American hardcore punk band from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Active in the mid and late 1990s, the group released twelve songs but disbanded before recording a full-length album. In 2011, Jesuit played reunion shows and released the compilation album ''Discography'', which includes remastered versions of all of the band's songs. History Original run (1995–99) Jesuit formed in 1995 with drummer Jason Howard, bassist Brett Matthews, and guitarists Nate Newton (ex-Channel) and Kelly Posadas. The band's demo, a three-song EP, was recorded by Bob Gurske and self-released on cassette. In 1996, the group released a self-titled three-song EP, produced by Kurt Ballou, on 7" vinyl through Reservoir Records. The same year, a CD was released on Reservoir which includes eight songs: the three songs from the 7", two additional songs from the same recording session, and the three songs from Jesuit's demo tape. Brian Benoit
Brian Benoit is a former guitarist for The Dillinger Escape Plan.Harkness, Geoff"Quintet overcomes tragedy" ''Lawrence Journal-World'', September 7, 2000, p. Mag-2. Retrieved on May 30, 2013. Before playing in Dillinger, Brian played in Jesuit with eventual Converge bassist Nate Newton. Brian joined Dillinger Escape Plan prior to recording '' Calculating Infinity'' and performed on the EP ''Irony Is a Dead Scene'' and LP '' Miss Machine''. In late 2004, just after the release of '' Miss Machine'', Brian developed nerve damage in his left hand, which forced him to leave the band in 2005. He was replaced on tour by James Love and Jeff Tuttle, though Ben Weinman was the only guitar player on subsequent releases. Frontman Greg Puciato said that Brian still had a place in the band should he be able to return; he eventually did return for two of Dillinger's final three shows on December 27th and 28th, 2017. Santos Party House
Santos Party House was a New York City nightclub located at 96 Lafayette Street between Walker and White Streets in the TriBeCa neighborhood of downtown Manhattan. Originally named the "Lafayette Street Jungle Gym", Santos Party House was recognized as the "Best New Nightclub" by ''Paper'' magazine's Annual Nightlife Awards, and has also won awards for its parties, sound system, lighting, and dance floor. The nightclub was a two-level, music venue designed by Ronald Castellano to function as a concert hall, dance club, and lounge. It took the partners, including noted musician Andrew W.K., three years to acquire a cabaret license and finish the creation of the space, with the downstairs space opening on May 14, 2008, and the upstairs space opening on June 1, 2008. Indecision (band)
Indecision was an American hardcore punk band that was started in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn in 1993, and officially disbanded in the summer of 2000 though they still play shows occasionally for charity. Indecision is known for their song "Hallowed Be Thy Name". The song features the lyric "For those I love, I will sacrifice" that fans across the world have turned into a tattoo. Photographer Laura Rauch took a photograph of the tattoo on the ribs of a 19-year-old US Army Infantryman named Kyle Hockenberry who was being treated in a medevac helicopter following an explosion that cost him both of his legs and one arm. The photo was taken for a military newspaper and went on to win an award from the Society of Professional Journalists. The lyric subsequently gained popularity with members of the armed forces. Unbroken (band)
Unbroken was an American metalcore band from San Diego County, California. They were influential in the Southern California hardcore scene during the mid-to-late 1990s. The band chose the name Unbroken because they wanted to emphasize their dedication to the straight edge philosophy of drug abstinence. However, most of the members have since given up this belief.
