Jessy De Smet
Jessy De Smet, whose stage name is Jessy (born 8 July 1976, Zottegem, Belgium), is a Belgian dance music singer of Flemish people, Flemish origin. who had several Music recording sales certification, gold records in the late 1990s and 2000s. She started her career in 1995 as a member of Belgian dance act The Mackenzie ft. Jessy. They had a number of hits and won a TMF Award for best album in 1998 with ''Angel''. "Innocence", "All I Need" and "Alive" were the biggest hit singles. In 2001, Jessy decided to leave The Mackenzie and go solo. In 2002, she released her solo record ''Rain'', produced by Regi Penxten, the man behind the popular group Milk Inc. The single "Look at Me Now" became a hit in Belgium and the UK, and launched her solo career. After this success, she worked with international acts, such as Verheyen & Vanvaeck, Sash!, Linda (Milk Inc), DJ Rebel, Michael Beltran and Mickey Modelle. Zottegem
Zottegem (, Sotteghem and Sottegem in older English and French language sources) is a municipality located in Belgium and more particularly in Flanders, in the province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the town of Zottegem proper and the villages of Elene, Erwetegem, Godveerdegem, Grotenberge, Leeuwergem, Oombergen, Sint-Goriks-Oudenhove, Sint-Maria-Oudenhove, Strijpen and Velzeke-Ruddershove. On 1 January 2018, Zottegem had a total population of 26,373. The total area is 56.66 km2 which gives a population density of 470 inhabitants per km2. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. Irish Singles Chart
The Irish Singles Chart is the Republic of Ireland's music industry standard singles popularity chart issued weekly by the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA) and compiled on their behalf by the Official Charts Company. Chart rankings are based on sales, which are compiled through over-the-counter retail data captured electronically each day from retailers' EPOS systems. All major record shops, digital retailers and streaming services contribute to the chart, accounting for over 95% of the market. A new chart is compiled and officially released to the public by the Irish Recorded Music Association on Friday at noon. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming. Linda Mertens (born 20 July 1978) is a Belgian singer. She was the female singer for the group Milk Inc. Mertens was born in Wilrijk in Antwerp. She studied Art and after high school, she went to hairdresser school for two years. Her father is Flemish, and her mother Tunisian. In 2013 she appeared on VTM in '' Lang Leve...'' as herself, in an episode about Regi Penxten, a member of Milk Inc. A greatest hits album or best-of album is a type of compilation album that collects popular and commercially successful songs by a particular artist or band.
