Jessica Braithwaite is an Australian television presenter and musician born in Mount Gambier, South Australia. She is a Nine News weather, entertainment and chat show presenter and also performs at major music events. Her 2021 single Who You Know hit no. 1 on Australia's AMRAP and Play Mpe radio charts. Her Christmas single 'I Still Get Excited For Christmas' debuted at no. 5 on the iTunes Rock Charts. In 2020, 2021 and 2023 she hosted the Australian Independent Music Awards with Dylan Lewis. She has previously presented on Sky News, Ten Eyewitness News, the kids TV show Totally Wild, Studio 10 and Ten Late News. Mount Gambier is the second most populated city in South Australia, with an estimated urban population of 33,233 . The city is located on the slopes of Mount Gambier, a volcano in the south east of the state, about south-east of the capital Adelaide and just from the Victorian border. ''Totally Wild'' is an Australian children's television series which premiered on Network 10 on 12 July 1992. The series aired on 10 Peach from 2013 to 2020, and 10 Shake from 2020 to 2021. It had a current affairs program format, and did stories on topics such as Australia's native flora and fauna, action sports, the environment, science, and technology. The show was broadcast across many countries. ''Totally Wild'' was one of Australia's longest running children's programs and Australia's longest running C classified children's program. Big Day Out
The Big Day Out (BDO) was an annual music festival that was held in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. The festival was held during summer, typically in January of each year but was sometimes held as late as early February in some cities including Perth. The event was conceptualised after the Violent Femmes announced a tour of Australia. Promoters Ken West and Vivian Lees sought another act as middle-level support for the band's tour. They succeeded in securing Nirvana to play the Sydney leg at the Hordern Pavilion. Daryl Braithwaite (born 11 January 1949) is an Australian singer. He was the lead vocalist of Sherbet (1970–1984 and many subsequent reunions). Braithwaite also has a solo career, placing 15 singles in the Australian top 40, including two number-one hits: "You're My World" (October 1974) and " The Horses" (January 1991). His second studio album, ''Edge'' (November 1988), peaked at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, No. 14 in Norway and No. 24 in Sweden. In 2017, Braithwaite was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
