Jeri Ingram
Jeri Ingram (born December 11, 1970) is an American former professional tennis player. Biography Ingram was born in Washington DC and went to school in Montgomery County, Maryland. In her four-year public high school tennis career she remained unbeaten, with a 106–0 record. She played college tennis for the University of Maryland and was the ACC champion at No. 1 singles in 1989. As a professional player, Ingram's career included main draw appearances at the 1989 Australian Open and 1993 US Open. She won four ITF singles titles and her best WTA Tour performance was a third round appearance at Stratton Mountain in 1993, with wins over Tammy Whittington and Christina Singer Christina Singer-Bath (born 27 July 1968) is a retired tennis player from Germany. 1993 US Open – Women's Singles
Steffi Graf defeated Helena Suková in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1993 US Open. It was her third US Open title. This marked Suková's fourth and final appearance in a major final, finishing runner-up each time. With the win, Graf became the first player (male or female) to achieve a second Surface Slam. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The Connecticut Open was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was a WTA Premier Tournament on the WTA Tour until its final edition in 2018. From 2005 through 2010 the tournament was also part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the ATP Tour. Tammy Whittington (born October 12, 1965) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Whittington played college tennis in 1980s for the University of Florida, where she came to from Plantation High School in Broward County. She was a singles All-American for the Gators in both 1985 and 1987. After graduating in 1987 she turned professional. On the professional circuit, Whittington reached a best ranking of 105 for singles.
