Maria Luisa Ramsey-Gotidoc (born March 21, 1970), known professionally by the Mononymous person, mononym Jaya (), is a Filipinos, Filipina soul music, soul singer, rapping, rapper, record producer, actress, dancer and presenter of mixed Jamaicans, Jamaican and Visayans, Visayan descent. She was a talent of GMA Network but later transferred to ABS-CBN, where she serves as one of the head jury of the ''Tawag ng Tanghalan'' segment of the Philippine noontime variety show ''It's Showtime (Philippine TV program), It's Showtime'' and performer on ''ASAP (TV program), ASAP''. Jaya is the first Filipino recording artist to chart in the United States, with her debut single "If You Leave Me Now" peaking at number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart. Shurpanakha (Sanskrit: शूर्पणखा, , ), also known as Meenakshi, is a ''rakshasi'' (demoness) in Hindu Mythology. Her legends are mainly narrated in the epic ''Ramayana'' and its other versions. She was the sister of Lanka's king, Ravana, and the daughter of the sage Vishrava and the rakshasi Kaikeshi. Shurpanakha's role in the original epic is small, yet significant.
