Jason Richardson (musician)
Jason Richardson (born July 30, 1991) is an American guitarist. He is best known for his work as a guitarist in both Born of Osiris and Chelsea Grin. His playing style is extremely fast and technical. He currently works as both a solo artist and as an official member of All That Remains. He is also a sponsored artist of Ernie Ball Music Man. On February 5, 2009, age 17, Richardson replaced Chris Storey of All Shall Perish as a touring member. In early 2010, Richardson left All Shall Perish and was asked to join Born of Osiris as a full-time guitarist. In late 2011, Richardson parted ways with Born of Osiris. Then, in early 2012, he joined Chelsea Grin. On September 21, 2015, Richardson chose to leave Chelsea Grin and form his own solo project. In 2016, Richardson released his debut solo album entitled ''I.'' produced by Taylor Larson. The album featured ex- The Word Alive drummer Luke Holland as a member. Chelsea Grin
Chelsea Grin is an American deathcore band from Salt Lake City, Utah. Formed in 2007, the group have released two EPs and five full-length albums. Since 2018, no original members remain in the band. Chelsea Grin was originally founded under the name ''Ahaziah''. The lineup for Ahaziah included vocalist Alex Koehler, guitarist Chris Kilbourn, bassist Austin Marticorena and lead guitarist Michael Stafford. Marticorena introduced Andrew Carlston to Chelsea Grin and assisted in rewriting their songs as well as the creation of new material as they changed the name to Chelsea Grin soon after. This writing process lead to the tracks on their first release, a self-titled EP that was streamed and released online through iTunes, then released on CD worldwide on July 27, 2008. Veil Of Maya
Veil of Maya is an American metalcore band, formed in Chicago, Illinois, by members Marc Okubo and Sam Applebaum in 2004. They are currently signed to Sumerian Records and have released six studio albums. Their first four albums are considered to be deathcore, but their fifth album, ''Matriarch'', is considered to be metalcore. They have also been associated with djent. History Formation and demo (2004–2006) Veil of Maya formed in 2004 in Chicago, Illinois after melodic death metal band Insurrection broke up, which led members Marc (lead guitar), Sam (drums) and Kris (bassist) to start up the new project. ''Ashes to Ashes'' is the third studio album by American deathcore band Chelsea Grin released on July 8, 2014 via Artery and Razor & Tie. It is also the debut of drummer Pablo Viveros. The album also saw the debut of Viveros' co-vocals, allowing lead vocalist Alex Koehler to focus solely on high ranged screams while Viveros took on the mid to low ranged vocals. Style AllMusic described the sound of the album as deathcore and on some songs metalcore relating it to that of their previous two studio albums. Release '' Ashes to Ashes'' was released on July 8, 2014 by Artery Recordings. ''Evolve'' is the second EP by American deathcore band, Chelsea Grin, released on June 19, 2012 through Artery Recordings. It is the first release by the band with guitarist Jason Richardson taking up lead guitar since his departure from Born of Osiris and the last release to feature Andrew Carlston on drums. ''Evolve'' was mixed by Jason Suecof and was engineered by famed metal producer and Dååth guitarist, Eyal Levi. Style Musically, the album features slight progressive influence along with blending more melody when compared to their previous releases. Background Chelsea Grin first confirmed work for a new EP at the end of 2011. It is also the first Born of Osiris record to make use of seven string guitars, and was produced solely by members of the band. Early demo versions of some of the album’s songs were produced and mixed by Misha Mansoor but the final retail release was mixed by Jason Suecof. Oli Herbert
All That Remains is an American heavy metal band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1998. They have released nine studio albums, a live CD and DVD, and have sold over a million records worldwide. The group currently consists of vocalist Philip Labonte, rhythm guitarist Mike Martin, former Diecast drummer Jason Costa, and lead guitarist Jason Richardson, with Labonte being the last remaining original member. In spite of this, the band's line-up had remained consistent from the release of 2008's '' Overcome'' until 2015's ''The Order of Things'', spanning four albums.
