2018 World Masters (darts)
The 2018 Winmau World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/ WDF calendar for 2018. It took place from 3–7 October at the Bridlington Spa Hall, which hosted the stage element of the event for the second time since 2009. The event was the first time a BDO Major tournament had not been broadcast on television in 28 years after Eurosport decided to not renew the rights to the event. The event was streamed live on YouTube through the channel winmau TV Krzysztof Ratajski was the reigning men's champion after defeating Mark McGeeney in last year's final by 6 sets to 1, but switched to the PDC straight after last years event meaning he was excluded from taking part. The World Darts Federation (WDF) is a sport governing body and (along with the PDC) a tournament organiser for the game of darts. It was formed in 1974 by representatives of the original fourteen founding members. Membership is open to the national organizing body for darts in all nations. 2014 UK Open
The 2014 Coral UK Open was a darts tournament staged by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was the twelfth year of the tournament where, following numerous regional qualifying heats throughout Britain, players competed in a single elimination tournament to be crowned champion. The tournament was held at the Butlin's Resort in Minehead, England, between 7–9 March 2014, and had the nickname, "the FA Cup of darts" as a random draw was staged after each round until the final. Phil Taylor was the defending champion, but he suffered a huge upset by losing 9–7 to Aden Kirk in the third round. Simon Stevenson (born 18 February 1972) is an English darts player, who currently competes in Professional Darts Corporation events. Career Stevenson first rose to prominence after winning the Rileys Plymouth qualifier for the 2014 UK Open. He defeated Ian Jones (darts player), Ian Jones, Jason Lovett, Mark Barilli and Rocco Maes to reach the last 32 before losing 9-5 to Jamie Lewis (darts player), Jamie Lewis.
