Janelle Johnson Dolenz
Janelle Johnson (December 2, 1923 – December 2, 1995) was an American film actress of the 1940s. She married actor George Dolenz (1908–63) and was the mother of Micky Dolenz of the 1960s pop-rock band the Monkees. Her English daughter-in-law was Samantha Juste, co-host of BBC television's ''Top of the Pops'' in its early days. Her granddaughter, Ami Dolenz, also became a film actress. Background and career Johnson was born in Austin, Texas, and was valedictorian of her class at St. Mary's Academy. Betty Jane Bierce, better known by her stage name Jane "Poni" Adams (August 7, 1918 – May 21, 2014), was an American actress in radio, film, and television in the 1940s and 1950s. Early years The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mason Bierce, Adams was born in San Antonio, Texas, but her family moved to California when she was two. During her high school years, she studied violin and drama, and she was selected to be a concert mistress of the all-city high school orchestra of Los Angeles. She received a full scholarship to Juilliard, which she turned down to spend years studying at the Pasadena Playhouse. Rondo Hatton
Rondo Hatton (April 22, 1894 – February 2, 1946) was an American journalist and actor. After writing for ''The Tampa Tribune'', Hatton found a career in film due to his unique facial features, which were the result of acromegaly. He headlined horror films with Universal Studios near the end of his life, earning him a reputation as a cult icon. Early years Hatton was born in the Kee Mar College girls' infirmary in Hagerstown, Maryland. The family moved several times during Hatton's youth before settling in Tampa, Florida. He starred in track and football at Hillsborough High School and was voted Handsomest Boy in his class his senior year. In Tampa, Hatton worked as a sportswriter for ''The Tampa Tribune''. He continued working as a journalist until after World War I, when the symptoms of acromegaly developed.
