Jamie Foy
Jamie Foy (born June 14, 1996) is a regular-footed American skateboarder. Foy was crowned 2017 Skater of the Year by ''Thrasher'' magazine. He is part of the New Balance Numeric skateboarding team. Career Foy was born and grew up in Deerfield Beach, Florida. He started skating at a young age, entering local skate contests as young as four years old. Foy started his career in 2013 and won several competitions in Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. In 2016, Foy moved to Los Angeles and quickly gained popularity after appearing in 7 videos in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he became pro for Deathwish Skateboards and was invited to join the Street League Tour. He was named Thrasher's Skater of the Year the same year. Steve Rodriguez (skateboarder)
Steve Rodriguez (born 1971) is a goofy-footed American skateboarder, skate company owner, skatepark designer, community organizer, and creative services director, who lives and skates in NYC. Rodriguez is a leader in the effort to restore the iconic New York City skate spot: the Brooklyn Banks, a place where Rodriguez spent much time skateboarding. Until it closed for construction in 2010, Rodriguez hosted skate contests at the Banks. Skateboarding Early life Raised in Sayreville, New Jersey, Rodriguez discovered skateboarding around 1983 and started skating not long after. He started skating in New York City as a teen, working for his mom who managed a store in the City. Rodriguez would skate through the city while doing deliveries and running other errands. Coleman Playground
Coleman Playground is a public park on the border between the Chinatown and Lower East Side neighborhoods of Manhattan in New York City. History The park is named in honor of an U.S. Army Corporal Joseph Francis Coleman who died in 1919. Before World War I, the Coleman family lived nearby on Madison Street. Coleman fought in France as a member of the 321st Field Artillery, the 82nd Division of the American Expeditionary Force (AEF). Coleman died on June 16, 1919 at Base Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey, after contracting tuberculosis in the trenches. Exactly six months after Coleman's death, the Board of Aldermen named this playground in his honor. The X Games are an annual extreme sports event organized, produced and broadcast by ESPN. Coverage is also shown on ESPN's sister network, ABC. Street League Skateboarding (SLS) is an international skateboarding tournament series.
