Jamia Uloom Ul Islamia
Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia ( ur, , ''Jāmi‘ah ‘Ulūm-i Islāmīyah'' / , ''Jāmi‘atul-‘Ulūmul-Islāmīyah'') is an Islamic University in Binori Town, Banoori Town, Karachi, Pakistan. The university continues the tradition of the Darul Uloom system initiated by Darul Uloom Deoband. , there are about twelve thousand students in different departments of the Jamiah and its branches, including a number of foreign students from over sixty countries. Controversies Assassinations of preachers On 2 November 1997, two scholars at Jamiat-ul-Uloom-ul-Islamia, Habibullah Mukhtar (Rector (academia), Rector) and Abdus Sami, were burnt to death when two motorcyclists hurled an explosive device at their van. Muhammad Yousuf Ludhianvi (1932–2000) was a Pakistani Sunni Muslim scholar, author, ''muhaddith'', Ahrari leader, and Vice President of Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nubuwwat. He was born in Esapur, Ludhiana, Eastern Punjab, India. He was assassinated on 18 May 2000 in Karachi, Pakistan, at Naseerabad market while going to his office at Numaish Chowrangi before at 9 AM while buying fruits. Azam Tariq (Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan)
Azam Tariq ( ur, اعظم طارق March 1962 – 6 October 2003) was the leader of the politico-religious organisation Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, a Deobandi organization, which was officially banned by the government of Pakistan in August 2001. On 26 June 2018, Pakistan lifted the ban. After his assassination in 2003, Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi was selected as the president of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan. Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami ( ar, حركة الجهاد الإسلامي, ''Ḥarkat al-Jihād al-Islāmiyah'', meaning "Islamic Jihad Movement", HuJI) is a Pakistani Islamic fundamentalist Jihadist organisation affiliated with Al-Qaeda and Taliban. Qari Saifullah Akhtar
Qari Saifullah Akhtar ( ur, قاری سیف اللہ اختر; died 9 January 2017) was an alleged member of Al-Qaeda who was in Pakistani custody a few times prior to his death. Akhtar, a graduate of Jamia Uloom-ul-Islamia in Karachi, had been the leader of Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HUJI), a jihadi organization. He was a key figure and founder of HUJI and was involved in jihadi groups since the early 1980s. He was appointed the head of HUJI following the killing of Mawlana Irshad Ahmed at Sharana during clashes with Soviet forces in June 1985. He was reportedly involved in the 1995 coup attempt to topple the Pakistani government led by Benazir Bhutto. The Al Faridia University ( ur, , Jamiya Faridia) is an Deobandi Islamic university situated near the Faisal Mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan.
