James Stephens is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Kilkenny, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club was founded in 1887 and has enjoyed equal success in both hurling and Gaelic football. Donnacha Cody
Donnacha Cody (born 24 December 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a corner-back for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Kilkenny, Cody first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St. Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team. He made his senior debut during the 2006 championship. Cody found it difficult to break into the starting fifteen, and won two Leinster medals. At club level Cody is a one-time All-Ireland medallist with James Stephens. In addition to this he has also won two Leinster medals and three championship medals. Cody's father, Brian, won several All-Ireland medals between 1973 and 1986, before later managing the team to ten All-Ireland titles, while his mother, Elsie, played camogie with Wexford. Kilkenny Senior Football Championship
The Kilkenny Senior Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the J. J. Kavanagh & Sons Senior Football Championship and abbreviated to the Kilkenny SFC) is an annual club Gaelic football competition organised by the Kilkenny County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the county of Kilkenny in Ireland. It is the most prestigious competition in Kilkenny Gaelic football. Introduced in 1887 as the Kilkenny Football Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to senior-ranking club teams. Liam O'Brien (hurler)
Liam 'Chunky' O'Brien (1949 – 23 August 2021) was a former Republic of Ireland, Irish sportsperson. He played senior hurling with the Kilkenny GAA, Kilkenny inter-county team in the 1970s. Early life Liam 'Chunky' O'Brien was born in Kilkenny in 1949. He was educated locally at St. John's De La Salle, a school associated with the O'Loughlin Gaels GAA, O'Loughlin Gaels hurling club. Peter Barry (hurler)
Peter Joseph Barry (born 24 November 1974) is an Irish former hurler who played as a left wing-back at senior level for the Kilkenny county team. Born in Kilkenny, Barry first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of nineteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny under-21 team. He joined the senior panel during the 1996 championship. Barry later became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won three All-Ireland medals, five Leinster medals and three National Hurling League medals. Patrick Larkin (26 July 1905 – 19 September 1976) was an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Kilkenny senior team. Eoin Larkin (born 17 July 1984) is an Irish hurler and coach. His league and championship career as a forward with the Kilkenny senior team spanned twelve seasons from 2005 to 2016.
