Jade (producer)
Simon Gabor (Hungarian: Gábor Simon), also known professionally by his stage name Jade, is a Hungarian drum and bass record producer, DJ, founder of the Eatbrain record label and architecture engineer. Career Pre-career In the late 1990s, Jade bought himself a record player and started practicing at home to become a DJ and later started to produce his own music. At the beginning of his production career, he uploaded his early tracks anonymously to an online column called "Music To Your Ears" where a drum and bass producer named SKC, took an interest in his work and helped Jade along his way with constructive comments and instructions. In addition to the help from SKC, he has also spend a private studio session with Chris.SU which gave him another boost in producing his own music. Drum and bass (also written as drum & bass or drum'n'bass and commonly abbreviated as D&B, DnB, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterized by fast breakbeats (typically 165–185 beats per minute) with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's rave scene in the 1990s. The popularity of drum and bass at its commercial peak ran parallel to several other UK dance styles. A major influence was the original Jamaican dub and reggae sound that influenced jungle's bass-heavy sound. Another feature of the style is the complex syncopation of the drum tracks' breakbeat. Neurofunk
Neurofunk (also known informally as neuro) is a dark subgenre of drum and bass which emerged between 1997 and 1998 in London, England as a progression of techstep. It was further developed by juxtaposing elements of darker, heavier, and harder forms of funk with multiple influences ranging from techno, house and jazz, distinguished by consecutive stabs over the bassline; razor-sharp backbeats; scarce or nonexistent traditional melodies; a hyper focus on sub sound design; the use of modulated, distorted and filtered synthesizers and audio capture from samplers such as the Akai S1000 and Emu E6400.
